Even though Grant played for Dayton and will likely make twice what we can pay in a far better conference and a far more successful program, if only Bass had contacted him and locked him down early, he would be at UNCW already.
We suck.

I have no evidence of dysfunction, that is why I used the word IF. I think you misinterpreted my post as being negative when I was simply asking for Dash to clarify his assertion that it was turning into a cluster and that we aren't going to be able to maintain our current core.

Dude, you're trying too hard. His name was mentioned on this board as a possibility. It's noteworthy to confirm that Grant is officially not a candidate (even if he was always unlikely) and that UD no longer has an opening. I also posted yesterday when UMass filled their position with a candidate that was never considered here, either officially or speculatively. I stated only facts. Don't try to make more of it than that.

LMAO!
The last three years is going to make it hard for all of us to adjust. We lost what, six games last season? Millennial sir not, there's going to be times of frustration. Luckily this board has a good core group that keep each other in check and emotionally flogged when we get too cranky pants.

Getting played?
Lol.
C'mon man. Look at what FGCU is paying him. I'm not saying they're beneath us, but financially we have the advantage. Relax. If nothing is settled by this time next week then perhaps we can all start worrying.

RE: Keatts replacement
A lot of the same Dooley information repeated, but there's a little more detail in this article: http://www.news-press.com/story/sports/c.../99744206/
Various Tweets:
Per @AlexRileySN's reporting, would seem the UNCW job is down to Joe Dooley of Florida Gulf Coast and UNC assistant C.B. McGrath. #CAAHoops
Been doing lotta surfing this aftnoon: I see Joe Dooley and C.B. McGrath both up for UNC Wilmington job. I have the highest regard for both.
Just spoke with #FGCU AD Ken Kavanagh. He remains optimistic Joe Dooley will stay in #SWFL, despite the interview w/ #UNCW yesterday. @NBC2
Mull throwing a little shade at Bass for not considering Christian:
A guy who is a candidate for the #UNCW job and a guy who should've been one of the top ones, but wasn't.

At this point I'm hoping it's Dooley, but I wouldn't be disappointed with any of the three options. All of them are gonna need our top support and I'm ready.

The same thought crossed my mind about Dooley. I wouldn't be surprised if he used us to stay at FGCU with a pay raise. He's got a good team returning and it's probably easier to get back to NCAA tournament at FGCU. We should be good next year but Charleston will likely be the preseason favorite.

We could flat out double his salary. Our budget is small, but we still easily outspend FGCU. On top of that, FGCU is the 27th best conference in basketball. The CAA hasn't been great in comparison to our past, some would say awful, and we are still top 15. That's a huge step up for him with the ability to succeed at UNCW and get looked at by P5s. Look at the current ACC. There are three previous CAA head coaches leading ACC teams now, two of which made their name at UNCW.
We're not the short stack at a poker table with FGCU.

I agree we are a more attractive job than FGCU but realistically we are both 1 bid leagues. Making the NCAA tournament is how you really make your mark if you want to move to a P5 job; even more so if you win some NCAA tournament games.
I'm not saying he's using us...I'm just saying I wouldn't be shocked if he stayed at FGCU.

If Dooley is hired by UNCW, were we played? If Pasternack ends up somewhere else, were we played? If you interview more than one coach, and you can't come to terms with them, were you played? Were we "played" by Keatts?
Sorry Dash, do you have ANY form of a business background? Do you have a clue what it entails to hire sought after recruits/candidates who have multiple options and who don't NEED to work for you? Was Keatts "played" by recruits he went after, brought to UNCW, and then they decided to go elsewhere? That's the game bud. Everyone is looking out for their own best interests and they operate in that manner. Get out of here with that ignorance.
Dash sure is sounding like our old buddy Ms. Cottonball to me. Resurfaced just in time to do some Jimmy bashing at the first opportunity.

FGCU would probably max out at about 400k for Dooley. Don't see money being a factor at all there. He'd have to like coaching there a lot to turn down this job.
