The Northeast conference got blown up, no more kings up here, college football has changed since the glory days. In my opinion if Kalpony wants to tell me we're not worthy I can take it. If a Cuse of BC fan tells me we're not worthy I'll tell them we're in the same sinking ship.

Yea, BC and Cuse signed up to be bodybag games for the southern teams. Same reason I don't get excited about the thought of a theoretical B1G invite. I get that the monetary aspect means they can't turn an invite down, but I'd rather play basketball in the Big East and go 8-4/9-3 as a football indy playing a couple P5 teams and a group of other indys/G5s.

I'd rather hold out and hope for the ACC or Big 10. They're both premier basketball conferences. Our football might get killed in them but it will probably get killed outside them. At least inside the cartel we get the built in recruiting advantages.

Well, I don't think that UConn is incapable of playing at the G5 level and again, money aside, I'd rather watch a team win the majority of their games against lesser competition and just have a fun little precursor to basketball than be like BC or Rutgers and get killed in-conference on a regular basis for a paycheck.

To be fair, I think that RU would be killed in most g5 conference. I think that we can both agree w/ that 04-cheers

But if we had Syracuse, UConn and Temple in conference...

There's a difference between ceiling and results. UConn basketball has a very high ceiling, but it wasn't good this year (we weren't terribly good, either).

I think Syracuse basketball has a high ceiling

I'd say the same about UConn. I really do miss the games, and we can agree to disagree about UConn fb if you want, but I really do miss playing UConn bb in conference.

Dropping UConn football for a second to reminisce about old times, I really wish that UConn played round ball in the same conference as SU. I do unequivocally think that you would make the ACC a better basketball conference.

If I had it my way, UConn, Georgetown, and Villanova would all play ACC bb. The rivalries are/were real, the players are/were great, and the coaches are/were larger than life. THOSE were fun games. The ACC isn't the same in that regard.

That would be one hell of an 18 team basketball conference!

We tried that, and Rutgers lose 75% of their games to Syracuse.

Last 10 years was a little more of an even split.

It was also the worst decade of SU fb ever and the best decade of RU fb since the 1800's.

Never going to happen. I can easily list the programs that would oppose that:

BC, Clemson, FSU, Louisville, NC State, Virginia Tech. Probably throw in Wake Forest for good measure (losing NC State), along with GT and Miami (opposed to watering down the football product)

If you are math challenged it's going to take twelve schools to vote yes. You don't have twelve votes even if you exclude the "maybes".
