Credible? I knew Kevin was going to NCSU before he did. C'mon Man!

If we marry 82's comment with the list from WECT, then it's Donlon.

WECT's list is no better than ours.

I agree. I'm not certain that they didn't take the list that we've discussed and consolidate.

RE: Siddle Interim Head Coach
Especially for mid majors, up tempo offense works best with full court press defense. Carolina can afford to play at a high pace on offense without the press, because they have a stable of athletic big men who can defend the rim if a fast break happens after a made basket. Same for Kansas, Kentucky and every other major. The press allows a mid-major roster to disrupt another team AFTER a made basket, and actually put them at a disadvantage. Sure, a few fast breaks happen, and if you watched UNCW we didn't have the size to stop them when they did. But, overall the press allowed us to put up a lot of shots, get some easy shots of TO's, and then slow down the other team by pressing off the made basket.

That is WHY we need to be narrowly focused on KEEPING an effective full court press defense to go along with the exciting brand of basketball we have on offense. Get rid of the press and we're a high scoring team like William and Mary who can't get to the NCAA tournament.

'Billy Donlon tops the list for the head coaching vacancy at UNC-W, then it's LeVelle Moton'
Not sure where he is getting his info. He is the producer of the Scott Hamilton Show.

Simply cannot see Donlon at the top of the list unless he commits to the press. A UNCW pedigree shouldn't be a factor, unless we were going back to the Brownell days of Wisconsin style, lock down defense. I hope we aren't trying to go back to the old glory days while abandoning the new glory days.

Top NBA assistant coaches make 750K- 1.5 mil ,that would be a huge hit for Grant to take for a mid major job like UNCW. Donovan takes care of his coaches from what I have always heard.
Billy Donlan-last on my list .

Picking Donlan would seem to be a very divisive choice at this point in time. I dont think that is a good idea

Monitor the school's main website. They always announce meetings (special & scheduled) there.

Hearing Donlon isn't on the list.

Darrin Horn would be an awful choice in my opinion. He was a flaming disaster at South Carolina. Not only was his record bad, but he was not thought of very highly by the players, administration or the local media. I honestly can't imagine why he is on any list for us.

Not getting hopes up but Anthony Grant would be a terrific hire.

Considering the fact that the administration made it public that no firm would be involved with the coach search, that may be an indicator that they plan to hire from within. I think it would be frowned upon if they spent money to use a firm when the hire was already there.

We didn't use a firm for the Keatts hire I don't believe.

Or perhaps they're confident in their abilities to make a quality hire without a firm?

You may be right though, never know!

Oklahoma St just paid the infamous Eddie Fogler to find them a coach who was already an assistant. And also played for him. The awful names I am hearing sounds like an Eddi Fogler search

If we can't come up with some strong candidates from the Louisville/VCU coaching tree, we need to hire Siddle.
