AAC Hoops: 2017-18 Early Look
Way Early Prediction:

1. UC
2. SMU
3. UCF
4. UH
5. Tulsa
6. Temple
7. Memphis
8. ECU
9. Tulane
10. UCONN
11. USF

Predictions:
UC, SMU, UCF, UH make the ncaa

Memphis, Temple, Tulsa are bubble...NIT at worst

ECU and Tulane are vastly improved

UCONN sucks hind tit again...they threaten to leave to the Big East and the Big East laughs at them. The MEAC says they will take them.

USF is improved, but still last

UCONN moves hoops to a conference they can dominate in hoops for 2020: the MEAC

Football is downgraded to FCS, then club level

book it

IDK but hunch tells me Wichita to the AAC is all but a done deal.

Dotson was a senior, and Gray is allegedly leaving. We're going to suck.

So will Sampson still get to use the excuse lack of talent for poor coaching?

That's just the inverse of next years football standings. Not very creative.

Which coach do you trust more?

Sampson - UH
Haith - Tulsa
Dunphy - Temple
Ollie - UConn
Tubby - Memphis

I really have no faith in any of those guys ability to raise the level of their current program. I think Ollie has the best chance due to talent and the fact he has to or he'll be gone.

Nope, they're not joining. No more than UCONN's going to the Big East. 'Member when that was a thing? Now it's WSU to the AAC. Still not happening.

Trust to turn around the team or to deliver March wins? Or something else?

If it's to turn the program back around it's s Dunphy for me. He's too good and too smart of a coach not to get it fixed. Maybe he'll even embrace recruiting at some point.

I just don't see Temple having much of ceiling under Dunphy at this point. We've won two tournament (never a Sweet 16) games under his watch. We've been ranked a grand total of 24 weeks (never in the top 10 and not since March 5th of 2012) in the 11 years under Dunphy. We've only entered the season ranked once and never finished the year ranked. I just don't see Temple taking the next step nationally under our current regime. The sample size to me suggests we're nothing more than a bubble team under Dunphy.

Ollie has to get UConn back to nationally relevancy. Ranked, in the conversation all year and/or tournament success imo. I trust UConn's administration to make a move to maintain legitimacy more than any other school's in the AAC.

Kick out UConn. Add Army to replace their football. Add Wichita State, Dayton, VCU, and Rhode Island in all other sports.
