Crush the Pirates tonight. We are all CAA brethren until Dec. 30th. At least you guys play defense, or at least more than Marshall. You might be able to beat ECU playing 3 on 5 like Alabama did against Minnesota on Saturday.

At least neither of our schools lost to a 5 point play, but that is what happened to JMU last night. It sounds like they got jobbed against George Mason.

Maybe CG can try graduate school at W&M. Law school or business?

No, but feel free to play "Where's Waldo" if it makes you feel better.

Not anytime soon, and you better believe I'll be applying to UNCW if I did.

04-cheers

Okay Gray. Since you're still new around here I'm going to go easy here. However, this information is a must: Mullet is not a UNCW fan. He's here because he lives in Wilmington. He's the "anti" voice to everything we hold dear and sacred as Seahawk fans. Sometimes, he posts things we agree with, but most of the time that's not the case. So please, don't confuse him with a UNCW grad, fan, or anything of the like. Stick around long enough and you'll get used to it.
True I did not attend UNCW by the Kmart but I have been a longtime supporter of UNCW basketball . If I was sentenced to live in Greenville,NC -I would NOT support Pirate sports in any capacity! Woo !!

Yeah. You can claim whatever you want. We know the truth.

That is a low blow coming from a W&M fanatic. We know you have those season tickets now !

Okay. Fine, I lol'd at that one Mullet. Well played. 04-cheers

Do you think a scheme that big could really be run without assistant coaches knowing(at least a little)? Those are the guys beating down the trails doing the recruiting. Fair or not, there is a guilt by association here.

I don't understand why we should feel it right to slander a person to the point it could possibly do damage to them and their family.
I don't feel like that's happening here.

So, am I misunderstanding the term "guilt by association"?
I'm not slandering anyone with statement, simply saying he worked on the staff and the leader of that staff is in some serious $hit. Did Paterno not get slaughtered because he looked the other way on something?

So Boeheim is guilty by association in your mind?
Head coaches have been caught being shady where an assistant is made interim.

IMO, Mullet has been fine lately. I disagree with him my fair share, but he seems to be reasonable these days.

I have always loved The Mullet. I always loved Howard Cosell, too.....

The Mullet has his place here at the UNCW board. It’s usually not a good place, but it’s a place. I think he sticks around because it’s a looooong swim back to Pepperdine.

RE: Keatts to NC State
Keatts is currently sitting at 0-1 in the ACC after getting Brownell'd this past weekend.

Tonight, his team visits Notre Dame, another top flight ACC program right now.

After that, the next three games are #2 Duke, #25 Clemson, and #8 Virginia. There's a very real chance NC State could start their season 0-5 in the ACC.

Just in case any of y'all are also casually observing how that tenure goes from afar. I'm not rooting for or against NC State. I'm just interested in how that coaching career last in Raleigh, considering their coach carousel for the last 10-15 years.

"He's a great recruiter, but doesn't make in-game adjustments."

They're jumping on him way too early. Also doesn't help that his PG committed a felony right before conference play began.

Well, to be fair the lack of in-game adjustments was an issue we had as well. You can go find the threads on our losses and the replies are probably peppered with it.

What exactly did his PG do? I remember he was dismissed, but never saw what happened.

Of course. He has flaws, but I just don't want to criticize a coach for his weaknesses until he's given a chance to optimize his strengths. NCSU fans are also the least self-aware fan base in the country. They truly believe that a coach should be able to get them on the level of Carolina and Duke, competing for championships, within 3-4 years.

Markell is facing felony assault charges for jumping a 37 yo in Cleveland.

Definitely had an issue with that. Had he been good at making in game Adjustments, we likely beat UVA. Difference is though, he won enough that we were able to write it off as a bump. He was very very stubborn. We saw this with the Chuck situation.

Not sure what adjustments were to be made against UVA though that could have helped us. Once they went small while also starting to swarm Cacok in the post, what were we going to do, respond by going big? Take Flemmings of the court and replace him with Marcus or Chuck? We didn't have the personnel to shift our gameplan entirely.

He stuck with Bryant for an extended period of time and his guy scored like 10 of 12 points all easy layups. THAT was the difference in the game, from up huge, to lead completely disappearing in a matter of minutes. If he wasn't so stubborn with Chuck, Zero chance that guy gets all those easy points.
