President Trump has issued the authority to the CIA in an effort to accelerate the fight against ISIS. The CIA first used its authority in late February to take out senior al Qaeda leader in Syria, Abu al-Khayr al-Masri, the officials said, according to the WSJ. The officials also said that the CIA's authority to issue drone strikes was confined to Syria and it is unclear whether they would gain more authority in the future.

CIA needs to have its wings clipped seriously.

I'm fine with drone strikes, but the military should be conducting them, not the CIA.

I agree 100% and had no issue in taking him out. I was just remember there was some discussion about it considering the dude was a citizen, etc.

Not sure who you're talking about but I'd challenge you to find one time I've said anything like that. I actually like using the drones but I don't think the CIA should be the guys pulling the trigger. They have too much power as is.

Using drones is only silly when its used as a lame replacement for military operations. Drone diplomacy is not a way to win a war its a way to keep consciences and hands clean via a satellite link and a joystick in Utah.

Its a screwdriver in the tool box. It can't be viewed as a do it all leatherman tool.

I think I've pretty much always made it clear that I considered the drone strikes to be among the very best things Obama did.

I'm sure I can find some others if I felt like it. I realize many of you weren't among those posting that about Obama though but I distinctly remember more than a few posts putting down Obama's drone strikes (probably more for ineffectiveness than for the specific fact that he authorized them). I didn't know smn is gone from this site.
