How bout dem Wildcats?!!!
Happy for our Evanston neighbors getting their first March Madness win over Vanderbilt. There's hope for basketball in the state of Illinois.

Makes me ill to say this but I feel good for them too, mainly because of the Collins connection. I really am a huge Doug Collins fan. And because Northwestern kept my perfect bracket alive

Now we'll never get another game against NU.

Happy for them. Crazy ending. Not smart basketball by the Commodores. I thought they were supposed to be smart.

Definitely a mental lapse by the Vanderbilt at the end. NU lead most of the game even though it was close.

I thought Vanderbilt was a smart school.
Vandy lost versus NU winning.
I guess he must be a PE major.

Vandy calling its last timeout with over 7minutes left was a killer down the stretch!

What does a Vandy player see?
Vandy 66 NU 65
Down by 1 and I should foul.
Idiot.

I feel bad for the kid, must have thought they were down by 3 and their basket put them down by 1, so still needing to foul. Quite a mental lapse, but man, he's going to live with that one for a while.

Very Chris Webberish, at least Webber went on to have a very good pro career. This young man doesn't seem like he will have that chance. I feel bad for him, but that mistake really helped our neighbors. I'm always happy to see Phillips do well. NIU was fortunate to have his service for a while.

RE: How bout dem Wildcats?!!!
Does anyone remember in the 80's when a B ball player transferred from NIU and played in the tournament? I believe he had a chance to tie the game in the last seconds from the free throw line and missed. Last name Thomas I think.
He cried on the way off the court.

It didn't look like it really bothered him much. He seemed like he was in another galaxy.

Looking at the replay I think he saw Bryce Drew pointing at the kid with the ball and fouled him. Bryce was pointing at the kid in a way to tell someone to pick the dribbler up and stop the ball from advancing. Brain cramp either way.
