"Mission Creep"

When's th elast time you've heard someone in the government say they are cutting budgets because of that term?

The reporters are clearly trying to stir up emotions. They also have no concept of the constitutional definitions of the functions of the federal gov't. Bottom line is that we'd be justified in cutting almost all of their pet agencies by 100%.

There is one thing they are cutting that is wrong. Meals on Wheels feed the elderly. Cutting that would make the elderly go hungry. That jerk said that program is not working. I call that pants on fire.

He said the program is administered by the states from block grant money. The states decide about MoW.

No it wouldnt. Stop with the faux outrage.

Meals on Wheels gets 3.3% of its budget from the Federal Government. All of the other money is from religious charities and corporate sponsors. There's no reason for the federal government to be spending money here. Its' being handled by charities as it is.

3.3% is practically a rounding error. Why am I not surprised that #LetThemDie was trending today?

I mean no disrespect by this David. I enjoy your viewpoints. However, Trump voters are a proud people. They want jobs. They don't want handouts. Trumps ultimate success or failure in my opinion will be entirely based upon bringing good jobs back. That's the alpha and the omega. He's stolen the Democratic base in a lot of ways. I think my Dad would have been a Trump voter. Yes, Trump's budget and policies do hurt the working poor. In reality I think they will be fine with it as long as they have jobs that will take them from the working poor to the working middle class. That's what he is going to be judged by.

What if he fails to bring back jobs? There is no way to bring them all back. Since most of them are replaced by robots.

The only reasons robots are popular now is due to Obamacare and the "fight for $15".

Most employers would rather create jobs, but if know it all leftists continue this way, robots it is. They, the robots, don't strike, complain, aren't late and don't need breaks or benefits.

I believe you are right. Job creation (or enough coming back) will be how he is judged. With that said, anyone that doesn't think the Federal government needs a pretty big haircut as far as spending doesn't see the inefficient, wasteful, monolith staring them in the face.
