OT: Forrest Creason to close
This will be the last summer. I'm a lousy golfer and not much of a fan of the sport and Creason was a lousy course. Still, sad to see it go. Most of my memories are from cross country races ("leading" Dave Wottle at the 3 mile mark one year) but I played a few rounds there as well. Too bad support wasn't better.

It was okay for a cheap round. But that is prime real estate. For Wood County

Nice to have but $$ are tight at BG. Might be a sign of things to come down south. Big money fund for hoops program. Horizon League in their future?

Forrest Creason has an uninspiring layout--it'd never be Ottawa Park. However, what was nice about it was accessibility and very reasonable green fees for BG students. It was another option of things to do on campus.

When I first read the title of this thread and never having heard of Forrest Creason, I thought it was about a new closing pitcher for the Rockets by the name of Forrest Creason. Then I read the info and became somewhat confused. Do you mean at sometime, long ago, there was a forest in BG that was named Creason? 04-jawdrop

The "OT" should have been your first clue, although Rocket baseball is pretty much off-topic in terms of sports.

RE: OT: Forrest Creason to close
The course was not able to keep up with the change in golf technology. They could not lengthen the course so it left a number of par 4's that could be driven to the greens and not much trouble (hazards) to worry about. Ottawa Park is also short, but a lot of trouble lurking around if you try to overpower it. The only advantage to Forrest Creason that could make it difficult was the constant wind - and most people hate playing in the wind.
