WTOL reports a "student athlete was suspended for allegations of sexual assault" no other details. No name, no team, nada-we had a nice string of quiet days. Hate to see this.

Caught it on the news last night. Hate hearing this.

I've found it hard to express. You want to be sensitive to all parties' needs and let the process, process. But if there's not immediate "condemnation," it seems like you're being insensitive to the "victim." Heck, even putting victim in quotes some accuse of being insensitive.

If you hope all sides are well then, you've called one side a "liar." If you're sorry this "hit home," then you're insensitive to other occurance, elsewhere. But I'm not automatically going to presume truth or guilt to either the accusor or the accused, not on something like this. But I see no happy outcome to wish for either. Healing?

Pretty much says what I'm feeling. I think of the Kent football player who was, I believe, acquitted of similar charges. Something unpleasant happened and someone, maybe two someones, are victims but all you can hope is that it is thoroughly investigated and that everyone gets through these things and can go on with their lives.

I know the Kent State player and his family. It will be something they never get over. Time they can't get back. I give his twin brother credit for competing at such a high level during the football season. However I agree, if someone does some horrific to another person they should be punished. Whether they play a sport or don't. Let's hope justice prevails.

Is the suspension of the player from tonight's game related to this?

Brent didn't give any details. Or if he did, I missed them.

Wonderful !! Will miss his explosiveness to the hoop, aside from that, not much else. Jon Jon Williams hopefully will get his life squared away, off the court.

Yes. As was stated earlier by others, these situations are very difficult to prove or disprove, meaning neither party often gets true justice.

If he did do this, it would be tragically disappointing; if he's being framed, it would also be tragically disappointing.
