Its the only non-SU WAC game I plan to watch each season because of that. Its good for the WAC having a real rivalry, GCU having their first rival, and NMSU actually having a conference rival

Are you saying if we can't rival the one we want (ASU), we should rival the one we're with (NMSU)? Hahaha

GCU can't compete with ASU. You guys can dream though.

You may wanna think that, but if GCU were competing with ASU for players in the same region, it would be better for ASU to wipe the floor with us (since we are garbage and can't compete with ASU) than it would to refuse to play us. Plus the whole the PAC-12 has a waiver that says their teams can't play for-profit schools is BS because we have played over half the PAC-12 across all of our sports.
I saw ASU played GCU in Lacrosse, didn't they? They have to just drop that stupid ban. Everyone is playing GCU now. I don't think anyone should ban to play GCU because they are for profit. Play them Arizona State. They look foolish not playing them.

Yeah they did, but they are probably going to try and say that it is because our lacrosse team is technically a club team since there isn't much of a western portion to the main Division I level of lacrosse. GCU actually won the game 9-7. The most annoying thing is that GCU has even offered to play ASU at a neutral sight (most likely the downtown arena, whatever it is called) rather than play at GCU. I'm sure GCU has even offered to play over in Tempe. I think it has more to do with the fact as that they don't want to lose to another Phoenix Division I program because they had zero issue playing us when we were Division I. It is just petty at this point.

The sign at the Slam Dunk event saying something like "ASU why won't you play us?" made me lol. National TV!

At one point the sign was actually behind the ASU player and one of the GCU photographers took a picture of it but cropped him out when they posted it on social media.

Well he hadn't given GCU any money, so that why he was cut out.

It also would have made an even greater photo though

I agree, ASU is too nervous they will lose. Seattle U can relate, Washington State hasnt played us once since we reupgraded to D1, despite numerous offers from Dollar. Dont want to lose to an in-state mid major
