He's a 6-3 shooting guard, borderline top 100 HS recruit and Indiana kid who was a reliable outside shooter for Mizzou but didn't do a lot else. Sits next year and then has 2 seasons to play.

Ball State has built a very solid roster. They look like the team to beat in the MAC the next couple of years. One thing you got backwards on Walton, though, is his outside shooting. He only attempted 23 3-pointers last year and made only 5. He's a slasher who needs to develop his shot to keep defenders honest.

RE: Basketball transfers out
Duquense and the MAC continue to trade players (and coaches). Spencer Littleson a 6-4 guard who was 3rd in the Mr Basketball Michigan voting as a HS sr and a had a few good offers is transferring back close to home in Toledo. Will sit a yr and play 3. Talended scorer with some flair who didn't get much done as a college frosh and will try to recharge and succeed in the MAC. Toledo continues to add in talented versatile 6-3 to 6-6 type guys, but looks to be thin inside. Mixed feelings on the Rockets boards about Littleson. Some folks like his game but depth at the guard position is not a concern and worries about the inside game remain.

Akron adds Malcolm Duvivier a grad transfer from Oregon St. Was a 2 year starter there but did not play his sr year due to personal reasons. Very muscular pg who averaged 10.7 ppt his soph yr but didn't shoot a good %. Physically, athletically looks the part.

He's sort of a man without a position. He played PG his sophomore year but they moved him to the 2 his junior year and then he lost his starting job to Stephen Thompson midway through the season. As you noted he's not a great shooter. He is built like a truck though. Have to figure that Groce grabbed him as a stopgap to provide experienced depth this year after losing so many players. And it leaves them with an open scholarship to use for 2018.

RE: Basketball transfers out
Lamar Wofford-Humphrey announced his transfer from EMU. last year was his first with us after playing two years at a JUCO. he definitely had the size (6-9, 225) and seemed to have the athleticism to be a good player, but he didn't get enough PT for me to even have an opinion on him. my guess is Murphy wasn't happy with how he plays defense in practice and therefore never trusted him enough to play in games.

not that its a surprise but the NCAA has rendered a verdict and denied Tony Campbell's request for a 5th year of eligibility, he can now be marked as officially gone.

If Tony Campbell was at thee o$u, a bonus 6th, maybe 7th year of eligibility would be on the horizon...

Baylee Steele is leaving EMU. He is a C who was a junior college transfer and played as a Sophomore.

Pretty decent player, but I think that squad is better with a more versatile forward playing next to JT4. Steele took up a lot of space without drawing much defensive attention away from better scoring options. I believe that is 3 PF types that left EMU with eligibility this offseason, yeah? I guess it works if the transfer Minnie is as good as expected and everyone stays healthy.

RE: Basketball transfers out
We also added a JUCO named Isaiah Green, who is a post player.

Personally, I liked Baylee Steele. He was not good defensively, but he had the makings of a good offensive player with enough work and experience. I fully expected him to play some significant minutes this upcoming season, and am now a little worried about the center position. Thompson bulked up pretty significantly, which should help, but we don't have another true "big man" on the roster.

This is a make-or-break year for Murphy, and he will be relying on a very young team to save his job.
