Wonder whose job it is to fix that.

Give him some fans and facilities and maybe things will change. Maybe they will.

Same sad excuses every damn year. We have a sterling practice facility now, and fans have never nor will ever make free throws, rebounds, 3 pointers or blocks. Just as it was in football, the wins have to come first and the fans will follow.

To put it into perspective Sampson is 0-8 in meaningful games now. Even a decent coach should be able to make mediocre players good players who can beat bad teams.

So true. Even Elvin Hayes mentions it's all about recruiting when he's not stuttering and you knowing his way through the radiocast.

Then again, some fan named Rob Gray did turn it over in crunch time by passing up a shot and praying a big would make things happen...03-yawn

That was actually a pretty good game by the Coogs. We shot a higher percentage from the floor, the 3, and the FT line. We matched them in rebounds (which is amazing for us) and had more assists and blocks.

We lost this game because Akron took 30 FT attempts. Their big man had 13 attempts. Our entire team had 17. And, before anyone says it's because we jack up the THREE a lot, Akron took 7 more triples than we did.

The refs weren't horrible but that's where the game was lost.

My only complaint is we didn't seem too fired up to be playing. Very little energy.

And that last part is solely on the coach. Just one more example why Sampson is not who we thought he was.

lol.. We lost to MAC basketball? That pretty much says it all. Fun team to watch, but until we get a couple of low post guys with at least average offensive skills, I cant get too worked about UH basketball. On to baseball season.

If you say so, Bill Belichick.

Sampson, just like Penders, is making chicken salad out of chicken ****. He doesn't have much to work with in the way of fan support or resources yet produces upper echelon teams in his conference. That alone shows you the job he's doing. This team had no low post presence and basically had 4 D-I players. It's a surprise he won as much as he did.

i rippedon the MAC but really, in hoops, how much separation is there really?

They are a one bid league most years, we are two.

Yeah...let that sink in for a moment.

This is depressing.

coogin it. Not buying the "we dont have enough talent" argument. Houston just got outplayed in a bad matchup for them. Shouldn't lose at home to akron but oh well.
