Not even sure it was just that, their D gave up 80+, very uncharacteristic

Good point. They turned the ball over above their average as well. I do believe if they had hosted they would have been better all around and won

RE: NCAA/NIT Tournaments
Chealey had strep throat from what people are saying. That definitely affected him in the first half, but he kept us in it in the 2nd half. Clavell from Colorado State is a better version of Andrew Goudelock from CofC. Made some amazing shots, including a 3 right over Cam Johnson which pretty much sealed the game.

We were underseeded. 62 RPI and got a 5 seed. Get a good draw (like Clemson or Alabama, who lost to Richmond tonight) or a home game with a great crowd at TD Arena and who knows what would have happened.

Maybe they were still smarting from getting beat by us? 05-stirthepot

Only kidding! I put it mostly on the long road trip and lack of prep time for the opponent. Colorado St might also be pretty good.

So I've filled out about 10 brackets and they all have a different national champion EXCEPT for 2 that both have Kentucky as my national champ.

It's tough to pick a winner this year. So much parity at the top. It'll make for a fun tournament, I think.

Wow, I'm about 5 deep and only have Kentucky going to final 4 in one. I just don't think they have it this year. But i do agree with you, it's wide open!

Lots of upsets last night in the NIT. Monmouth got upset, Indiana was upset (though on the road), Cal got upset, Utah got upset, Bama got upset, and Clemson got upset.

It's more of a reflection me thinking their entire side of the bracket is wide open than thinking Kentucky is all that good.

On a few other brackets I have Kentucky losing much earlier, however.

RE: NCAA/NIT Tournaments
I've filled out 14 brackets so far. Here's who I have going to the Final 4 the most often across my brackets:

Duke (7)

Gonzaga (7)

UNC (6)

Kentucky (6)

Kansas (5)

Villanova (4)

Louisville (4)

Arizona (3)

UCLA (3)

West Virginia (3)

Oregon (2)

Michigan (2)

Baylor

Florida

Florida State

UNCW (lol, had to on 1 bracket)

And this is who I have winning it all the most:

Kentucky (3)

Duke (2)

UNC (2)

Villanova (2)

West Virginia

Louisville

Gonzaga

UCLA

Kansas

Yep, I think this is the year Gonzaga gets to the Final 4. We say that every year, but this team has more "swagger" than years past. I have them losing to West Virginia in several brackets, however.

People have been burned so many times by Gonzaga that they're almost underrated this year. If they win the national title there won't be many brackets that reflect that.

NC Central just pulled a HUGE choke job. They should have beaten UC Davis but played dumb.

Congrats on the win. The Big East announcers were a nice touch.

Does anyone else find it odd that Boeheim criticizes Greensboro when the city which he lives is dying?

RE: NCAA/NIT Tournaments
Several more upsets in the NIT last night. Belmont, UT Arlington and Akron all pulled upsets. 3 of the 4 7 seeds all won, with the only one not winning being Valpo (surprisingly). All 4 6 seeds won (Georgia Tech was the only one who played at home). So despite the NIT not rewarding good mid majors like UT Arlington or Richmond, they will get to host 2nd round games anyhow as 6 seeds. Georgia Tech, as a 6 seeds, will open the tournament with 2 home games.

^I've seen Akron play 2-3 times this year. I like that team a lot; I hate they missed the tournament.

He just doesn't like the excess travel. I firmly believe had they stayed put in the BE he'd coach another 5 years.

Agree. I just haven't seen any upside in Syracuse joining the ACC. The Big East is STILL a better fit for them in the long run. Boston College really hasn't worked out either.

I agree 82. Too bad academics were an issue with WVU.

He should have retired in South Florida years ago, like Jim Larranaga.
