Maybe he wanted to be closer to a large metroplex? Or a hipster at heart and wanted to go to Denton.

Grew up in Irving, parents are still there, his in-laws live in the metroplex as well.

BREAKING: North Texas will hire Arkansas State's Grant McCasland as its next head basketball coach, per sources.

Now we know why A-State decided against post-season ball.

I can't wait for Mohajir's next radio interview.

Obviously not too impressed by that new $43,000,000 budget. LOL

Sounds like a strong family geographic fit. It's not a move up program-wise.

He'll double their conference wins to 4 next year and they'll up his contract to 10 years. LOL

Ouch... I didn't realize La Tech was so cash strapped. Kind of funny considering they act so high and mighty.

Yeah, think of how bad we could have embarrassed the belch champ in the NO Bowl if we'd only had more funds available.

03-lmfao that win over StAte is one of the greatest accomplishments Tech fans have experienced in many years across all sports.

Actually, I'd rank our 3 national championships and 13 final four appearances in women's basketball over that win over Ark State, but that's just me.

...are we all going to have to pretend this statement is true because we are afraid of being called sexist?

Fine I'll just say it. All 47 people (families and friends of players) that witnessed those great accomplishments agree with you, I am sure.

Again, ignore the Tech fan and move on. It's been scientifically proven that they only show up on here if you summon them.

I don't think that'd be a good idea. Going from high school ball straight to D1 ball would be extremely difficult.

Now, hiring a coach that went 32-0 at a JUCO or Division II school would be a good idea. That's the route the Troy women's team took with Chanda Rigby. She went 67-7 in her last two seasons at Pensacola State College, and has now given Troy three straight 20-win seasons and two NCAA appearances.

Why would we want a coach to stick around for a while? That mean's nobody wants him.

Blakeney had offers to leave and turned them down... he worked out very well till the final 5 years of his 24 years with us.
