The guy who coached our first 24 games this year is really good, you'll love him and just hope the guy who coached the last eight games doesn't show up.

I guess hiring a DI coach is somewhat of a coup, but I don't think mccas is any kind of remarkable catch. The family connection was key to this move, but he has also demonstrated that he has zero loyalty to his previous schools.

Never expect loyalty from a D1 coach. Very very very rare.

He's nothing remarkable in game. Teams performance comes down to how he can motivate the players, and hoping his recruits pan out

True. I suppose I am spoiled because Cross is a former player/student. He really loves UTA. Not that he could not eventually be money whipped.

But I am turned off by these guys that sign-on to coach at a given school and then jump ship to a second school before even coaching a game. Mccas has done it as well as the recent Little Rock coach. I find it distasteful and could never really trust such a man. Slightly revolting for me

uta is the odd bird. with now 41,000 students and over 200,000 alumni they still keep that family atmosphere around their athletic programs. there is not much of a dog eat dog, win or go home pressure on the coaching staff or players. coach cross likes being here and I am sure he gets offers. hard to guess what it would take to get him to leave. I would guess that his salary might only be in the middle of the pack for sbc coaches.

Yeah, it took forever to get our underperforming volleyball coach out. Thank goodness that was corrected.
