RE: Thank You!
We're at that horrible point in the message board season where the adrenaline is at an annual peak while the action is still seperated on a week by week basis. This past weekend was filled with excitement and, as such, we have a lot to discuss. Unfortunately, we don't play again until Friday. So until that game happens, we'll be riding whatever emotions happened most recently. In this case, the loss to SMU and Selection Sunday still sting. Rest assured, if we play well on Friday night, this board will suddenly turn around with irrational optimism. Such is March.

Agree. I think some of the frustrations and concerns expressed on this board are the result of finishing the NCAA tourney during the first weekend. If you go back to the 1995/96 season when UC lost in the E8 to Mississippi State, the Cats have only advanced to the S16 twice since then. From another angle, in the past 15 times UC has made the NCAA only twice have we made it to the second weekend. Let that sink in.

So what's the point? The point is we can't change the past. Winning cures all ills (at least the majority of 'em). We have another opportunity this weekend to do some damage and win two games. Remember, it's win and advance one game at a time. Will we? Who knows? But you can't win if you don't have at least the opportunity. So there's that.

No AAC Season Champ - Check

No AAC tourney champ - Check

Terrible showing for our most watched game all season - Check

Seeded worse than we thought in California with a RD 2 match up vs a national title contender and the greatest program in history - Check, check, and checkmate

Hope the Bearcats can pull off a shocker, but I can't recall my entire life UC ever pulling off a stunner in March.

I don't think Cincy got screwed according to their opponents, but they were definitely screwed as a 6 seed and on the west coast again. Cronin is right on that.

I am old so I can remember us three times beating the #1 rated team in the nation in the NCAA tournament. Kansas State was one of those so maybe a good omen if we play them in the first game.
