Basketball Going Forward
Let me preface this by saying as a UCONN fan, we were part of the problem this year. We underperformed terribly. Whether this was from injuries, lack of production, etc. we let the conference down.

To my point though...Cincy and SMU played great this year, busted it, and both our 6 seeds in the tournament. This is unacceptable.

Before we all claim that the selection committee is out to get this league...they let Tulsa in last year when they had no right to be there.

This league needs to mandate OOC scheduling. We can't have teams with 300+ OOC schedules. And then they win 2-3 games in the league. It kills teams like SMU and Cincy. They lose points just for playing these teams.

Same thing was said last year, and the year before, and the year before that, and the year before the oBE breakup.

At some point this broken record bullsh*t needs to stop!!

It would take a mandate to make Lebo schedule a real OOC slate. Plain and simple ECU has intentionally scheduled trash for years. The only reason we aren't scheduling 4 non-D1 games a year anymore is because the AAC won't let us.

RE: Basketball Going Forward
I know it was a young league. But other than UCONN, Cincy and Temple, no one really schedules OOC. Even SMU this year played a couple of teams OOC and lost. Michigan (neutral) USC (road) and Boise State (road).

It will be interesting to see when they get rid of the RPI next year what metric they focus on. We as a league have to play the game a little. Memphis with a SOS of 146? Really?

Here here. I'm sure UConn will be back next season. We really need a grea UConn.

I give SMU a pass on scheduling. They played several traditionally good p5 teams that just sucked this year.

Fire his Ass. He is the equivalent of Tommy Tubberville. He has lost his passion and shows up for a paycheck. This is unacceptable at this level. It cheats the fans and especially the student athletes who put in too much work to put up with that kind of garbage.

Yeah - 30-4 and 29-5 and they get 6 seeds. Part of it is their own scheduling but it is clear the committee thinks of the AAC as another mid-major conference.

You are preaching to the choir. He should have been fired after last season, and certainly should be after this season.

Glass half full...this couild be a good league next year. Depending on who comes back:

Cincy (def tournament team)
SMU (they lose some., does Ojellie come back?)
UCONN (rebound from injuries)
UCF (tournament team next year with transfers)
Temple (my sleeper team)
Houston (if they can add a big guy borderline tournament team)

Could be a 5 bid league next year. I didn't include Memphis because I assume Lawson is going pro based on reports I have read. If he stays, than I put them in the mix as well.

Agreed on scheduling. As a Memphis fan, ours sucked.

When the league was created there were 4 so called power teams and 3 or 4 others were almost there. We need Wichita and I would add them as all sports, fb stays fcs for 3 years then fbs.

Tulsa's schedule turned out to be much tougher than many fans thought it would be. I'm hoping everyone continues to schedule up but we also need to win a high percentage.

UConn will be back, but Memphis needs to step up. They're a tradional Top program that has fallen hard and far.

The AAC should actually mandate that ECU should fire Lebo. Every school in the AAC has at least tried to improve, except ECU. Lebo just doesn't care. Plain and simple. The league needs to push ECU to fire Lebo and he has earned the right to be fired, because he is a terrible coach that is killing the league.

Well obviously he should be gone. I'm just not convinced it's gonna happen but it sure needs to.
