What do we do well?? What to expect next year.....
Watching other teams play conf tourneys, it's obvious to me that we could not impose anything that well could do well on the opposition this year. My question is this.....If we have starter players returning like Markel, K.J. and Jeremiah, what can we expect and should we expect anything different or better?
I just don't see the guard play, defense, shooting, inside play that would give anyone optimism.
So, would it be good for the aforementioned players to return? or would you rather see freshmen players like Enoch, Nickelberry, and Johnson develop and blend with returning players like Clergeot, Randall, Rivers, etc...
We need a culture change. We need energy, skill and big time playmakers. I'm just unsure it could happen with certain players returning. What do yall think?

We simply need more depth to play at the defensive intensity and offensive pace that we want. Also, there are holes on the roster in the post and on the perimeter that we need to address.

If DL leaves then next year's team will have needs at every position. PG, SG, PF, SF, and C. Guard play, shooting, rebounding, defense, you name it, the team will need it. Tubby can pretty much guarantee significant playing time to any recruit with a pulse.
If Markel wants to even sniff the NCAA tournament he'll need to graduate and transfer.

We are good at giving up if you go by the last two games.

Based on current roster (sans Dedric) and Tubby's difficulties with motivating players, we will be fortunate to match the 1999-2000 season record. The solution includes better players and Tubby reevaluating and improving his player relationship methodology.

^^^THIS^^^ + our coach can just sit there as well as anyone---and no team out there has players that when down 30 can laugh like ours can.

Hard to get energetic when your coach is sitting there thinking about the next tee off.

So we should replace him with someone who plays even more?

No, but we need someone who at least looks like he is focused, and attentive during the games.

Tubby needs to take a page out of what Josh did at GT. Get himself a good assistant coach who will be like a defensive/offensive coordinator. What I saw on both ends of the court was archaic. Our style of play was unlike any teams I have seen play this year. It may have worked at the beginning of the season, but it was very much fools gold for the coaches and players.

The system isn't the problem. You can have the best system in the world and still suck if your players are below average.
Tubby needs to recruit, recruit, recruit; and then he's done, recruit some more. It would help if he could lock up a local kid or two to get some enthusiasm back.
Tubby has never had a job like this, where the general formula is to recruit your backyard. There is enough talent in the city to field a pretty damn good team, but you can't let kids like the Douglas kid from CBHS get away.

We need everything.
A Point guard who can take it to the hole, who can hit the open man, hit a consistent jump shot and run the offense.
A two guard who can shoot and take it to the hole.
A big ugly at center/PF
Start there and see what we can do.

I'm going to expect more depth, more front court help, a bit more comfort from veteran players and more consistency. I'd expect a little more 3 point production as well.
Realistically, I'd like to see 22-24 wins.

So we want a youngish recruiter with energy. Doesn't like golf. Not afraid to turn his staff over. Gives an appearance of someone who really cares.
I know a guy...
