Never mind the horrendous blowouts on national TeeVee....Is someone trying to tell us that Dedric Lawson ( the guy who wants to go pro) and his brother KJ ( a fierce competitor), and Markel ( the guy who wants to transfer to a good school)...I mean is someone trying to tell us that these guys did not want to do well in front of that national audience....?

Any time a coach starts publicly blaming fans, it's beyond over. smh

Usually a coach doesn't go into public 'blaming mode' after only one year....
unless he/she can't handle the situation at all. at all.

When you don't shoot well; you don't look good. Shooting 22/65 plus 4/26; then, 19/60 plus 4/17 is not shooting well is it?

The bigger issue is how good the other team shot the last few games.

That 'arrangement' is why we lost the last two games by 71 total. How can Memphis fans expect me to work within parameters that were impossible for my style of BBall...!! I don't care how talented they are....get rid of all the impediments (kids that come from Memphis with strings attached) and give me a shot my way...? Because I may not be a great recruiter and it's true I don't believe in pay for play--including handing out a Tiger cap or two that's lying around...But I can win if we do it my way. And after I do win the program gets bequeathed to my son, Saul...

Is that what he's saying? Or did I go overboard. Don't bother throwing me a life preserver if I did....I think I'd rather swim away on my own....if that's what he is saying.

How in the world you read all of that into Tubby's one or two sentence statement, is beyond me.

Will beat the dead horse that Tubby can still do fine here the next half decade, but he must elevate his energy...period.

While we do not play in the ACC, we are a MAJOR program with more tradition that most P5 schools. And no, I am not arguing we are ahead of the North Carolina's of the world, but we are well ahead of the Texas Techs and Minnesotas, as well as Georgia.

Somehow he appears to have missed that. He was essentially adored for a bit less than what Pastner was crucified for. Ramp it up in all ways Tubby, make these five years great.

Next coach though, yes, without question, an up and comer. An Archie Miller or the like. One who will run through a wall.

It would be interesting to know how many times we passed the ball around not taking the open shots till we were forced to take the contested one at the last tenth of a second.

Was that on the players or the coaching....I'm just asking.

I do not believe that is Tubby's decision to make. If that is what he proposes as he exits, university leadership better respectfully decline.

Another thought is: If that is his plan he damn well better do a better job than was done this year leading up to said transfer, else neither one will stay.

RE: Who Should Replace Tubby?
Question, do any of Tubby's staff have any head coaching experience, or do they just follow him around to next job?
Maybe some on staff needs to go, and Rudd says to hire a better recruiter.

It's my understanding that his staff is not negotiable. They come and go with him....

It's a mess. That's the only conclusion I can make. It's a big mess
with infighting and disagreement.

Great, what kind of mess have Rudd, Bowen, and boosters created now.

I don't even think they know or anyone is sure. But, as usual, people and fans line up behind their favs in the situation.

We are not a MAJOR program as we like to think.Western Kentucky, Princeton, BYU, Utah , LSU , Wake Forest , Missouri , Iowa are just some of the "powerhouses" that have more sweet 16 visits than Memphis. You have to have an administration to make a hire to relight a fan base that wants to believe we can win like we did under Cal.The pride of those runs is what is missing as a team, fan base, and school.Tubby seems to be a direct correlation of how the administration is right now...apathetic.
