Can't see it surviving...better off to find a niche as an opening weekend, T-giving or XMAS Tourney

They need to start the tournament sooner.

It should be better than both the CIT and the CBI! They need to jump on teams early. Possibly work out Conference deals with the second place non-NIT, non-NCAA invitee.

Need to get some official conference tie-ins. And maybe let losing teams play an additional game or 2 to get fans to commit to the trip.

Imagine if they secured official ties from:
2 Pac-12 teams
2 MWC teams
2 Big Sky teams
2 Big West teams
2 WCC teams
2 WAC teams

And then 4 at larges (probably made up from the above conferences, unless someone just wanted in). And every team was guaranteed at least 3 games so fans would want to come out for a long weekend.

Actually I think you might have the best idea...make it a western based tourney. However, between the CBI/CIT and this I think there should only be one extra tourney.

I remember posting something like this last year, but the third-tier tournaments should reorganize as three 8-team regional events — one in Vegas, one in New Orleans, one in Florida or the Bahamas or whatever. Maybe a fourth in Chicago or Boston or something. Every team gets three games and they make a weekend event out of it.

Yes...that sounds pretty good too. Probably have to leave the Bahamas off due to the passport issue and expensive travel. Make several regional tourneys...8 teams over 3 days. Everyone plays 3 games. Gotta be in 2nd tiered cities...lower pricing and the locals might actually support. Making it regional many of the teams can probably bus to the games.

MGM Grand already sponsors such an event Thanksgiving week. Eight total teams invited, four play in the "heavyweight" division, and four in the "middleweight".

Fort 2017, the heavy weight teams are UNLV, Ole Miss, Rice, and Utah.

Damn, I know the heavyweights aren't what they used to be, but damn.
