Good for Ron. He's a great player, a cap casualty in Big D.

RE: Ron Leary to sign with Broncos
Ron is far too good to sit on the bench. And he was likely going to be the 6th O lineman in Dallas.

Shows you how deep the cowboys line has been the last few years. He is going to be a very solid edition to the broncos line, and should really bring some physicality & nastiness to help their run game.

He is a solid pass blocker, but he is just a beast in the running game.

I think he is a better run blocker than La'el Collins, but Collins is younger and a more athletic pass blocker (could move to tackle in the future). So the cowboys are going with Collins because of the extra upside. And because Collins cannot demand as much $$$ for a few more years.

8 mill a year is a lot for a guard, and the cowboys already have to pay Travis Frederick, Tyron Smith and Zach Martin.

This also could be a move to help the broncos sign Tony Romo.

They needed to start upgrading their OL, and this does just that.

Solid development.

Dallas' OL, quite frankly, is too loaded.

Biggest guy on Denver's line.
Knees have held out to date, let's hope he is blocking for Lynch this season.

Houston traded Oisweller to Cleveland....showing that they also plan to enter the Tony Romo sweepstakes.
Denver needs to get Romo, or spend another year out of the playoff picture.

So now, they're not releasing Romo, they're trading him. Jerry realized he had some value. This will get interesting.

its not that he JUST realized...its that teams weren't lining up to offer something the Cowboys felt he was worth. Houston's trade, and Denver signing another teammate of his...puts both into the serious contender category for teams looking to get him.
They were reluctant to offer much at first...but realized that their QB needs are greater than they had anticipated.
Both teams have good defenses...and could a playoff contender with the right QB in place. Both teams also realize that they better get serious...or see Romo sign with someone else I guess.

I want him to land in Houston. They have a big time defense, an offensive line and a running game already in place.

Its an ideal fit.

Things would be nice in Denver too, but I think Houston has the better line and established running game.

Leary said he wasn't going to promote Romo to the Broncos. SEE this thread and story. http://csnbbs.com/thread-812102.html

I wasn't really referring to Leary personally recruiting him (the NFL is more of a business in that respect), more so the idea that the broncos are investing and upgrading their line which any veteran QB is going to like.

Ron Leary....signed with Memphis on 1/26/07. Memphis was one of five offers. Others were OM, Southern Miss. Alcorn State and Grambling. He was a 2 star offensive guard from Southern Lab in Baton Rouge. Just thought this was interesting info.
