I'll always wish these CBI/CIT tourneys get perpetually ignored and all games wiped from teams' official records.

The CIT and the CBI can't be long for separate existence. All the major conference schools are done playing in the CBI, and if those tournaments are losing all the best mid-majors, not sure how they can survive as a home for UMBC vs St Francis.

The NIT is going to have more freedom with its participants. No wonder some will steer clear of this one.

there are 60 schools in the pool that are 3 games over 500
most of these schools never been ncaa or nit tourn
towson would # 1 seed, grand cayon avgs 5,000
to get school like auburn, they would need atractive sch
ark st would have tex schools on sch and high seed

As long as UMBC and St. Francis are willing to pay.

I don't think most AD's view them as a good use of resources. Half the teams invited are done by Thursday, so you really don't gain a lot of practice time. The reward players receive is either another home game or another road slog. Many of the games aren't televised.

I think you really have to give the schools some value and that means a neutral site destination location and television.

Instead of 16 teams they should be 4 or 8 team events (guaranteeing at least two games) scattered around and not played until at least a week after Selection Sunday.

The ESPN complex in Orlando would be perfect for an event.

CIT
Houston Baptist at Campbell
Norfolk State at Liberty

Liberty has no history whats so ever so any tournament wins would be good for the program. Lastly, it can only help with fan attendance and getting a team full of freshmen and sophomores some tournament experience even if it's a 3rd rate tournament

alot of these schools never been or have no shot of getting into nit much less wining it.
25 schools have 20 or more wins, go for it.
3rd tourn alot like nit, intrest grows as tourn advances, at the you start getting sellouts & tv

Right. I'm pulling for HBU to make a nice run. They used to have a really nice program in NAIA before moving up.

I used to be kinda ambivalent towards CIT and CBI, but that took Merm Penders trying to lipstick the pigs that were his late season Coog tank jobs ("CIT is a cutting edge tournament ") to get that out of me.

Now, I'll eyeball any postseason bouncyball for the heck of it.

If Rice hosts, I may try to go. If UH was hosting postseason, I definitely would have made it.

Omaha's staying home. They actually cited the cost of the CBI and CIT as the reason why.

These tournaments may be in SERIOUS trouble --- there are a lot of schools turning them down. Are we in danger of not having one of the CIT/CBI this year?

Omaha was seemingly an obvious choice for one of these tournaments (surprise season, nearly made the NCAA by winning the Summit, a little bit of a momentum behind the program), but even they are saying "nada."

Yeah, I'm unclear how we can be asking the state for a $4 million bailout of our athletic department and at the same time sending our basketball team to a pay-to-play postseason tournament. I'm guessing we won't be playing a home game.

Wrong again! We're hosting Stephen F. Austin on Wednesday.
