ACC Championship Locations Going Forward
Let me throw out this as the givens:

The tourney will never be only in NC or NYC.

The candidates: NYC (MSG or Brooklyn), NC (Greensboro or Charlotte), DC, Atlanta, Florida (St. Pete, Tampa, Jax or Miami)

Throw in long shots like Louisville, Pitt, Syracuse, Chicago if you like but prepare for pushback

NC as a state is allowed to host events (throw out the politics)

Over 10 years...what is the mix?

I would look at the 10 year breakout like this:

Greensboro/Charlotte 4 years
NYC 3 years
DC 2 years
ATL or FL 1 year

Thoughts???

I think Greenville SC should get it. the SEC women's tourney has been here several times and they love playing here.

or Columbia or Charleston.

it makes more sense to have the games closer to the fanbase of the conference. they are the customers.

So you want to move it away from the larger BB fan bases and towards the smaller BB fan bases? Plus Greenville is not that far from Charlotte and the arena is less than 16k.

If UConn was in the league I would say yes...however, adding Boston would take away a spot from a more deserving location IMHO.

why should there be favoritism for larger cities? And again, Duke and other good programs have many players from small towns. why do you believe all the good players grow up in the largest metroes? That is so stupid. almost everything you post on here is not true.

you provided zero evidence that playing games in large metroes helps recruiting.

RE: ACC Championship Locations Going Forward
i read on another website that tournament game tickets were going for 6 dollars. most fans aren't going to want to pay for airfare and hotel, etc to go see basketball games.

so at these cheap prices, the arena still only had 17, 732 people in attendance. 17,732 divided by the population of the NYC metro is basically zero.

ClemVegas, honest question, since you are a Clemson fan and until yesterday you hadn't posted on the board in 6 weeks. Do you follow/watch CBB? I'm curious.
