RE: UNO Playoff series - Game 1 thread
Sounds like the puck barely dropped in Game 2 and we're losing.

RE: UNO Playoff series - Game 1 thread
Remains 2-2 with 5:22 left in the 2nd.
I don't like the way this game is shaping up, we're not coming back with passion after our loss on Friday night. Looks a lot like last nights game.
Omaha leading SOG at 22-21 and FO's at 22-14

UNO is even younger than WMU, with only 3 seniors. They look a lot like us, on the ice and in team composition. They're playing with wee bit more confidence than we are at this point.

We've played with more passion in the 3rd period tonight than the last 5 periods combined.

RE: UNO Playoff series - Game 1 thread
Went to both games this weekend and last. Great crowds last weekend, so thank you somebody for the extra promotion. Pretty weak crowds this weekend, especially for the Lunatics of course, but it was better than in years past. I heard that Dries broke a thumb but no mention of a timeline for return. Last night showed what a difference maker and a leader he is. He really makes everyone better, every line.
We played last night's game without hustle almost from start to finish. We were flat and played with no physical edge. We're a team that's at our best when both teams are skating hard and playing physical, like how the NCAA tournament will be, so that's something to be optimistic about. The series vs North Dakota was so hard fought and physical, and that's really when we shine. UNO's goalie played really well last night and took a serious razzing from the Lunatics, more on that later.
Tonight's game started out exactly the same. Flat, feet dragging, and it really looked like a lack of effort going after a 50/50 puck cost us the first goal. After we scored, we perked up noticeably through the end of the first. We played the rest of the game with more effort than last night, but with Dries out of the lineup we didn't have much of an edge on them effort-wise until we got the scoring rolling in the third. Their goalie's confidence was crushed by the end of the night. I'm guessing if we put up the first goal tomorrow night that'll be the end of UNO's season.
