I am certainly encouraged by this performance, but even a broken clock is right twice a day (or in a season).

UAB takes game two against ULM 4-3 with a walk-off bunt. They go for the sweep in the second game of the doubleheader in about an hour.

No score after 4 in the 2nd game of Rice-Stanford. This game has a 5PM CDT travel curfew.

Sounds like a good weekend for CUSA baseball.

Rice down 0-2 heading to the bottom of the 7th. This will be the final inning of the game.

Rice splits the series 2-2... Record now stands at 6-11.

My take on this weekend is that we aren't totally dead yet, but it's clear we aren't as good as usual... At least it was accretive to our winning percentage.

This week we've got SHSU, @TxSt, @ODU for the weekend. If this weekend was a blip, then we'll go 2-3 or worse and this season is going down the drain. 3-2 and I still won't be sure.. 4-1 or better and now we're talking.

I was happy to see us match-up well this weekend. It was a very evenly played series: 2-0 win for us, 3-0 win for you, and an extra inning game in between.

I'm pretty happy with Charlotte's OOC weekends this year:

Rider 4-0 - (before you laugh, they just took 2 of 3 from Georgia)
Xavier 2-1
At ECU 1-2

On to C-USA play!!

Herd takes 2-of-3 from Niagara, has won 8-of-9 and have Ohio U. on Tuesday in Huntington this week and then UTSA is heading to Charleston's Appalachian Power Park this Fri-Sun for opening C-USA series.

The Herd is 8-6 now, pitching has been pretty good, as has the top 4-5 in the lineup - so far, 5-1 at "home" at YMCA Kennedy Center, five miles north of town.

I would like to think they might make some noise again this year, especially as the weather warms. It was 38-degrees on Sat for baseball and softball, with winds gusting 20-30 mph was not at all toasty this past weekend for a 5-0 Fri-Sat-Sun combined for baseball and softball. The c[/align]old expected back this weekend for boys from San Antonio!
