Total 103-93, so basically average. Couple of NIT wins and made it to a C-USA final but that is it. She has done some good recruiting but is just not that good of a coach. The sooner we part ways and give someone else a shot the better. If you have not done anything after 6 years its not happening, its simple as that. Our program and history deserve better.

KB needs to hand the X's and O's over to a very capable, well paid assistant. It's the only thing holding her teams back from being great.

The Lady Monarch's game against UTEP was the only one I've watched all year, but it took me about 5 minutes to see Karen Barefoot isn't a very good coach.

UTEP had 3...not 1...not 2...but 3...players chasing Simms around the perimeter. Common sense would tell you that we would have 2 players unguarded under the basket. It took Barefoot (and Corrigan) until early in the 4th quarter to start dumping the ball inside. Were they asleep? That was really bad.

Karen is a lovely person, a good recruiter and a bad coach who I would love to keep on as an assistant. ODU needs a new womens HC ASAP.

And that is the rub. Would KB step down as the head coach to become an assistant or a co-head coach for the betterment of the program? I would hate to lose her recruiting ability or the energy she brings to the program. I think she has a year left on her contract. I don't see Wood asking ODAF to pay a buyout for her at this point when we have much more pressing financial matters to deal with like giving the assistant football coaches actual contracts.

She has a lot of positive energy and motivation too. Maybe they can create a position for her so she can save face and move her away from the coaching part?
