You guys have no idea what it is like to be an ECU basketball fan. The ECU basketball coach has coached for 19 years as a D1 head coach (7 years at ECU) and he has never taken his team to the NCAA tournament. He has only been to the NIT twice, but never with ECU. He routinely has losing seasons, even though he made a career out of scheduling games against low level NAIA, DIII, DII, JUCO, middle school and girls high school teams (not the good ones though, because they would kick Lebo's ass). Under him ECU almost always finishes in the bottom quarter/half of the conference standings regardless of what conference they are in, but some how the ECU HC still retains a job because the ECU administration is convinced that he has the program turning some imaginary corner; which proves that he really only has the job because of his connection to UNC. An assistant coach on the ECU HC staff did more in 11 games on an interim basis then the ECU HC has done in 6 of his 7 years at ECU.
The ECU HC has the personality of a tree stump and he routinely passes on recruiting kids in his own backyard that actually wanted to play at ECU, because in the ECU HC's mind he doesn't think that those kids can play in the AAC; and it goes without saying that those same kids go on and become very good players in other programs in leagues like the ACC. Then that same coach will turn right around and make veiled comments about ECU lacking the talent to compete in the AAC. The guy talked about retirement, which got everybody's hopes up; but then the guy was to chickshiet to do it. Ask any ECU fan should the interim coach be hired permanently and they will almost all say yes. Ask those same fans if the ECU administration will fire the HC and they are likely to say no. So it must be nice to be a Houston, Memphis, UConn and Temple fan; because you all actually have good coaches that have a bad year or two.
Thank you for the kind words regarding Memphis, Marv. You know the situation here well and understand the frustration we're experiencing. However, you are correct; Tubby is a good coach and Memphis is historically a good program; so both will be successful again jointly or severely.
Thanks again for the kind words.

Hey Old Tiger, I thought Memphis was a tournament team before the season. My opinion from someone on the outside is that Tubby's heart isn't in it. I could be wrong. The way the season ended for Memphis was unusual. Players seemed to give up, which I attribute to coaching.
Cheers!

From an outsider's perspective, he was better a few years ago before Samspon got going.
How? Chicken isn't a good 3 point shooter, doesn't have a mid range game, is weak around the basket and can't rebound.
Chicken's lack of.improvement is on him. I don't think that he has the personality to play basketball.

chicken never got to truly develop how he wanted....it not his fault he was forced to play center when he was never one....
chcicken should have developed in a durant style point forward, and was actually heading into that direction till everyone left and he was forced to be our big man .... if you dont remember when samspon first came he was on the 3 point line driving on players and taking 3s
I do remember and he was not good at it. Hence the reason Sampson tried to reshape his game
