Smallwood has to get better. He is going to see a lot of time, if that's our roster. Any shot at a Mike Davis late JUCO special, that's not ASW.

I don't care as much as the players as I do a new defensive coach that teaches things like we had with Coach Marsh. His teams played real defense. Only got upped by the most athletic teams like the NBA type Memphis teams.

Not a fan of Lavendar. I like that starting lineup except have the 2 guard starter be a juco guard we sign this spring.

Why? Lavender showed me NOTHING this year. Didn't improve at all. Was a turnover machine the entire season. Dribbles the ball WAY too much and gets nothing out of it. Hopefully it was because he was playing out of position. At least Darling showed some improvement by the end of the year.

Hopefully Lavender will show us something when he's playing his true position. A lot of folks here had high praises for him. Darling will be a good player. I'm not sold on JD Williams yet. He's an athletic freak, but can't make a shot that's not a dunk or layup. He has to drastically improve his shooting to be effective.

I have a feeling our JUCO two guard will start.

If Darling doesn't start, it should mean we signed an even better shooter. I think he's a prototypical 2 guard that good teams need

Makhtar Gueye, extremely fleet. Don't count him out.

Fixed for you...6'9", 180lbs - HaHa freshman size. Hopefully, as good a player. Looks to be a much better offensive player at that point in their development.

Hurtado will get lots of playing time, too...

Not sure what Lavender's 'position' should be,,,,, Cant possibly be Shooting Guard. Maybe 3rd choice as sub for point or second sub at small forward.

RE: Next year's team...
Do we expect to have any roster attrition?

We should be getting a talent upgrade on the perimeter next season, but Nick Norton will be our only upperclassmen (along with Lavender, but eh).

More troubling, our only true bigs will be Lee and Cokley. Sullivan and Gueye will both be forced to guard the post, but both are undersized.

If we want to change our fortunes, we need an immediately eligible athletic, scoring guard and a defensive big.

Lavender is classified as a sophomore. So he has two more years.

RE: Next year's team...
The talent we've brought in the last couple of years has been underwhelming. Lavender was a pretty big disappointment this season, JD is an athletic freak but doesn't seem to be a great basketball player, Nate has a great shot but I'm not sure about the rest of his game, and Smallwood is just taking up space on the roster. Hopefully one of these new guys will be able to make an impact.

Shame on a freshman and sophonore for not taking over a team full of upper classmen

I'm willing to bet that the newcomers will need a time of adjustment and fans will be bitching if it takes longer than the first half of the first game.

RE: Next year's team...
Can we please stop recruiting these "athletic" players and recruit some true basketball talent. Guys that can actually shoot a jump shot, follow a shot, throw a pass, catch a ball, pump fake and drive, use the glass on a shot, and in the words of Gene Bartow, "knows what to do with the ball when he's near the boards." Because right now we have maybe two that have real basketball talent.

Right. It's unheard of to see or expect freshmen and sophmores to make a significant impact on a team. Right MB?
