Which is more important to your attitude towards the company: 10,000 vets in America (already there at 8,800 as of February) or 10,000 refugees scattered across 75 countries?

Do you want those vets to lose those jobs as you praise the company's demise?

I want companies to learn that SJW virtue signaling is no way to do business.

I don't mind that they are hiring refugees, just like I don't give a crap what target does with their bathrooms. But when they start to give out the idea, we're better than you and so we're doing this.....

It's like Hillary's "deplorables" comment, or the "punch a nazi movement"....

You simply have to learn not to paint your customers, the demos, or your fellow citizens as the epitome of evil.

Is there a way they could've done this to not give out that idea to someone. You're always going to do something that is going to make a group of people unhappy. IMO, this move would've been called virtue signalling either way in the world we live in today. Not everyone is as level-headed as you.

Errrrr, just hire them?

Don't make it a PR piece?

If they simply hired, trained and had XX,xxx of immigrants doing a decent job with not a lot of fanfare no one would say a word.

But, no. Gotta make it a statement. nothanks

Correct...just do it if you think it's best for your company.

What they did was to get into a hotly political topic just as Target did. I think what we are seeing is just as we did with this election.

People are tired of companies trying to force the hot topic of today down their throat. And the loudest people are not the ones actually walking through their doors. It's the ones that are going about their life's. Working. Taking care of their families. Doing every day things. The quiet ones that voted in large numbers and stop going to those those places that want to be PC and tell the world if you're not. You are wrong.

Stay out of politics that most likely 50 to 60% of your customers don't agree with. The numbers might not say 60% but I bet the ones spending the money in these places are in that 60%

Yes do it without the stupid fanfare!

Read this (Starbucks Statement), and tell me if it comes across as something Coffee related.

Yes... But when you hire a marching band to announce it you're going to do it, and virtue signal the hell out of it to boot... Well you amplify the amount of animosity you create.

I think you've seen how I would have had Target word their bathroom policy change. It would have been non confrontational, non judgmental, and used "forces outside of our control" as the main driver.

Starbucks could have just went about the *actions* of hiring whoever they want without going... If anyone asked find a reason which is not "we are so damn virtuous"

Quote:IMO, this move would've been called virtue signalling either way in the world we live in today. Not everyone is as level-headed as you.

Some would have, of course, but you make the situation 10K times worse when you paint your *social* policies as sanctified and the those you oppose as the devil...

Especially when I just wanted a damn cup of coffee.
