Forbes is a good coach, but the cupboard wasn't bare when he got the job. 9 juniors and seniors.

Of course he would, he makes a fraction of the money.

Look at the schedule.

The pro-Forbes, anti-Kennedy group is an amusing cult. Not pointing anyone out specifically, but they exist.

What does that even mean? I actually like AK.

Again, not pointing anyone out. Just making a statement...

We have a few posters here who pimp Forbes but scoff at the idea of AK. And it makes no sense.

Just my opinion but I'm not much on AK.

Aoparently whoever makes the decisions at the UofM doesn't like either.

Yes over a two year period, but the roster wasn't as depleted relative to the competition. Also the schedule/ conference is awful.

How does it make no sense? AK has proven to be a bum. Forbes hasn't had a chance to really show what he can do yet. He's an unknown, but there is hope that he could be really good at a bigger program based on what he's done thus far.

I'd fall into that category. I just don't care for AK. IMO, he's an underwhelming hire with a mediocre record who hasn't produced any next level talent.
Forbes bring serious excitement in the recruiting circles and has serious fire as a coach. Kind of an unknown though but worth the risk.

The schedule/conference is relative to ETSU. And if we are comparing Forbes to AK, the SEC isn't exactly murderers row. AK has only been to the tournament twice in 11 seasons as a head coach. Forbes is only one behind that in two seasons.

There is no guarantee Forbes will become a really good coach at a higher level than ETSU. But it's still possible that he could. He will have the chance to prove it soon.

AK is a proven mediocre coach. Good coaches win wherever they go. Average coaches are average wherever they go. AK = very average. He's a younger version of Tubby Smith.

Exactly. Forbes offers hope to the program. Hope that he could be really good and lead the program back to relevance. AK is what he is at this point. Snooze fest. No hope. Just like Tubby.

I think both would do well here, but I think Forbes might do better.

I've been a Forbes bandwagon card member forever...people here probably got sick of that entire topic...I'm behind Tubby but if he were to leave, for whatever reason, I'd jump back on that SF bandwagon quickly.
