2017 Hoops Coaching Carousel
I've always wanted to start one of these threads. This should be an interesting offseason.

So far the victims I know of are...

1) Kim Anderson - Mizzou
2) Gottfield - NCst
3) Orlando Antigua - USF
4) Johnny Jones - LSU

Others whose butts are on the hot seat

1) Tom Crean - IU
2) Mark Fox - Georgia
3) Mike Anderson - Ark
4) Bruce Weber - KSTATE
5) Illinois head coach - have no idea who that even is?
6) JT3 - Georgetown
7) Thad - OSU

Other Coaches who could retire or head to the NBA any day

1) Roy Williams - UNC (I think Roy is waiting out the current NCAA situation before he leaves)
2) Rick Pitino - UL (ditto above)
3) Jim Boheim - SU
4) Coach K - Duke
5) Calipari - NBA

...I believe this is the year we see Greg Marshall make a move. I would also look to see Richard Pitino Jr on the move. Coaches who will be hot commodities for other jobs...

1) Greg Marshall - WSU
2) Archie Miller - Dayton
3) Richard Pitino Jr. - Minnesota
4) Chris Mack - XU
5) Mick (Not saying he's leaving, but schools are going to look at him)

John Groce. Was the head coach at Ohio University before moving to Illinois.

I cannot see any of your last group of 5 ever moving on. They have no need to and contracts that more than enough money for the rest of their lives.

Boeheim said he was going to retire after 2018 about 3 years ago.

Boheim and K are both in their 70's. Hoe often do you see coaches make it to 75?

Apparently Missouri and NCS fans think they are getting Mick. What they don't realize is just because they are in a P5 conference doesn't mean their bball program is junk.

Krzyzewski is 70 and Boeheim is 72. What I said is I don't think they will move on, not that they wouldn't retire. I think I missed the "retire" portion of your question when I first read it. Mea culpa.

Roy Williams is 66
Rick Pitino is 64
Bob Huggins is 63
Tom Izzo is 62
John Calipari is 58
Chris Mack is 47
Mick Cronin is 45

How sure are you of that? What if IU came calling offering $3M a year? Can we match? I doubt that happens, but if it did, do you think he still stays?

I'm pretty sure all the news outlets up here have confirmed that Matta will be back next season. His seat may be warm but he survives one more year.

Would he represent himself or would a new rep take him as a client knowing his prior agent claims he has stiffed them for over $200,000?

His agent left an agency. Mick paid his agent, not the agency after the split

Let's hope Fad is safe, and they slug out another .500 season, built on home pre-conference patsies..

^ Yep; couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of fans.

I still think Miller is holding out for O$U. If I were the Buckeyes, I'd cut loose Matta now and get Miller before someone else snags him. But I'd rather they not so they can stay down.
