How about rotating between Charlotte, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Boston?

Jacksonville?

I think you miss the point of why it is in NYC these two years, and why teams and conference are always trying to schedule games and events in NYC. It isn't for fan convenience. NYC is the epicenter of the East Coast. It is, in many ways, the de facto capital of the Western Hemisphere. In case you haven't noticed, conferences are trying to break out of their regional origins. Some have even gone as far as adding one of the most inept Division 1 athletic programs in college athletic history because it is only 45 minutes away.

There is no reason to hold it in Jacksonville, Pittsburgh, or Boston.

Besides watching basketball (which is the actual reason to attend), I'd like to play some great courses and not feel like I walked through an exhaust pipe...I'll take Greensboro.

Pittsburgh makes little sense. I don't think Pittsburgh has enough hotels to hold fans from 16 teams plus the media. We're good for the opening round of the big dance, from time to time, but not a conference championship like the ACC.

The ACC has outgrown Greensboro. However, when you say things like this you loose credibility.

The real problem is that the ACC footprint is so large it is hard for fans from all the schools to get to the tourney. I think we should go to 4 regional pods, each having its own play-in to the ACC final four. The ACC FF should be in a marquee city.

As an Orange fan, I admit JB can be a bit of an ass on a regular basis, but his overall point has some merit, even if he could have worded it better. ACC still thinks small time, whether it's football or basketball.

It is what it is.

If Greensboro has enough hotels to host the ACC Tournament then Pittsburgh certainly has more than enough hotel availability to host that event. However, like Greensboro, Pittsburgh has no business hosting an event of that scale. Beeheim is absolutely right, it should always be in places like Brooklyn, DC, Atlanta, etc. Even charlotte make some sense. However, Greensboro makes no sense for anyone but a few schools that happen to be located near it.

The ACC added schools like Syracuse at least in part to have a presence in New York. Why on earth would you then refuse to take advantage of that opportunity you worked so hard to create? Because you don't want to piss off the Ford dealers of greater Mecklenburg County or some other dumb bullshitt?

There are definitely issues but the conference is going to have to deal with but this one should not be one of them. If you want to play there every seven or eight years in deference to the tradition of the conference, I guess. However, otherwise, it should be in New York, Washington DC and Atlanta. However, it should mostly be in New York City.

Syracuse and Pitt are lucky the ACC rescued them from that second rate basketball conference and finally moved them into big time basketball.

The ACC now stretches to the Great Lakes and from Boston to Miami.

It ain't your Grandpappy's old NC based conference any longer.

That conference is dead and gone, replaced by its current configuration.

It was the ACC's choice to expand and the ACC's choice to hold the tournament in New York.

If you don't like that, direct your ire to the school presidents and the ACC offices, not the newer member schools.

You try to be nice and offer someone a helping hand when they are in a desperate situation and they want to complain that you reached out with your right hand instead of your left.04-jawdrop
