THIS IS AN EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING TEAM TO WATCH - ESPECIALLY IN PERSON...

a side effect of our "post first" offense is that guards become passive.

Maybe. Robert Brown seemed to have a handle on it. A solid low post offense keeps defenders sagging off of shooters.

It took Robert Brown the better part of a season to really figure out the offense.

Plus, the D'Antonis of the world would prefer we continue to pound in the post.

Why not call a time out and put your best offensive players in for that last possession. I love what Hak brings defensively, but having him and lavender in at the same time has us playing 3v5 on the offensive side. Its not rocket surgery; two of Watts/Dirk/Darling need to be in the game at all times. If you have to play hak and lavender in together, then have them together with Dirk at the 4 and Lee at the 5 and darling as the other wing if they are small or Cokely as a big if we need to have a bigger team. That way we can space the floor and make Hak and Lavender effective driving the ball, which both are good at when the other team cant pack 4 people into the paint at all times.

We ran plays for Brown. Watch how few off ball picks we set to free wing players. Last year we were screening Brown free.

Having Mehinti play with Hak and Lavender doesn't help either. I do think we were trying to focus on Dirk when he was with this group, but his footwork is terrible coming off screens.

03-lmfao. I'm sure that's why he only dropped in 950+ points in 2 years.

I like our bad defense more than Marshall's no defense.

RE: The official Torch the 49ers game thread
The scary part about this game is that the 49's are a good shooting team that has missed a lot of open shots and are shooting 26% from the field... and are only down 4 points at the half. They start hitting shots at even an average clip and we are in trouble.

He only averaged 14 points a game in either season. He had some big games his junior year, but the consistency wasn't there until our tourney run, and it carried over into his senior year.

that has been our saving grace so far & if we had been hitting our during that same time span instead of being just as cold

RE: The official Torch the 49ers game thread
Brown wasn't some great shooter by percentage (shot 40.2% and 43% in his years here). Upping his 3P% in his senior year to nearly 40% made him a lot deadlier though. He was an all around guy who did a lot of different things. What made him so valuable (and one of my favorite Blazers) was his leadership, composure, and clutch shots.

I almost convinced we should switch on every pick. Cokley and Lee are both mobile enough to stick with most guards.

Not watching the game but judging by the score and stats we are playing like crap. Looks like Charlotte may be playing slightly worse though.
