The FBI director really should be invisible, not disclosing information like this:

I can't quarrel with the thread title and I fully agree that he probably is doing too many (one might be too many) press conferences. There are just some jobs that should be in the background and this is one.

I feel the same way about Supreme Court justices and top intelligence positions. Other cabinet secretaries hold positions whose main function is political by nature. Seeing them out-front is fine.

Agreed. I can't really recall a past FBI director that was so front and center to this level.

Louis Freeh had a bit of name recognition, but even that was no where near Comeys diving for the nearest mic or reporter.
