Ladies off to a 2-0 start after a steal by Hawkins.

The seniors playing well. Goodwine with 14, and Hawkins with 6 points (and 6 assists) but she has become the all-time 3-point field goal shooter in Rice annals. Rice up 4 - 44 to 40 midway into the 3rd quarter.

Owls have stretched lead to 13. Playing well in the 4th quarter. 6 minutes to go. Now 16 point lead after a Hawkins 3!

Owls win! Final score is 75-63. Really nice 2nd half and a balanced effort with 5 ladies in double figures.

Rice plays the 2 seed Middle Tennessee State tomorrow night (6:30) in the quarterfinals.

The ladies looked great in that last 10 minutes. Red hot shooting a very good D.

How many times has Rice won at least one tournament game for both men and women in the same year?

RE: CUSA Tournament - Women vs UTSA
It's happened before I'm sure of it. Probably when Harris/McKrieth/Gillespie was leading the men as the women had some good teams in that time frame too. Maybe even once since then too.

Now if we win two more games tomorrow, that might be a first.

First time since 2007, although in that year both the men and women won two games before losing.
