03-banghead I would have walked that baby right in the door and made them make a scene in front of everyone. That is stupid.

Would anyone seen or heard it?

I would have paid for the ticket then walked over to a UAB official and asked if this was their rules? If so I would have said thank you, now I need to contact the conference. Then the person who wrote the article on attendance for the tourney.

Never seen a place that charges for babies as long as they don't require a seat.

The student tickets were about 2-3 bucks cheaper than GA tickets but they still had to purchase a ticket to get it.

The school is probably paying for UAB students tickets. I know in our old conference the schools picked up the tab for their students to attend. It didn't make for huge student turnout except for the teams within a bike riding distance away, but it helped with the atmosphere. Most schools within 4 driving distance brought about 100 students.

I'm sorry that happened to you. I haven't had any issues bringing my toddler into Bartow this season. I'm not sure why they gave you a hard time about it.

See that is the problem because because UAB is the host (bid and won) it's only soft money...

a line on a itemize statement and no money really changes hands.

Anyone know how this works with the conference. Does the conference get a % of the tourney or just the money UAB paid to host? Unless the conference gets part of the gate...

it's only a line on a budget

If the conference gets part of the gate then UAB would only owe for that portion of the cost for student tickets. Lets say it's 25%...UAB would only be paying $5.50 for each ticket hey gave to students. I assume they gave out $22 tickets

WOW. Haha. Ouch.

This is why I hope that they actually have fan support for their football and not just because it was the cool thing to do a couple years ago.

Some guy I've never read an article from/or heard of who isn't a UAB fan writes an article about the opening day attendance of the 24th ranked conference men's college basketball tournament. The host team was 200 RPI with a .500 record.

Lol is all there is to say

Thanks. I've taken him to games at both Tech and Charlotte this year, and no ticket was required. It was only Wednesday they gave me a hard time, and I happened to have an extra ticket that day. Yesterday, I brought him in ticketless no problem to both Bartow and the arena. Hopefully, this won't be an issue today either.
