Everyone seems to be under the false impression that Tubby is in the HOF NOW as Cal is. He is not. He will have to be voted in as were other members.

Our present position of irrelevance was a combined effort, or lack thereof, spanning a 3-5 year time frame. BB, as it has been pointed out ad nauseum, is not important in today's scheme of worth.
With this in mind, we switched focus and hired a FB AD guy and concentrated on making ourselves relevant in FB, the idea being to get accepted into a power conference. Basically we played for all the marbles and lost. Fine. It was the correct choice...right? And we'd do it again...right?
But BB has lost more worth than anyone ever dreamed. And that sucks in a way that a successful FB program can never replace, imo. Basketball brought so many folks together--all economic groups, races, creeds etc. FB will never do that.
Even if we get in a power conference, betcha we will consistently spend the money trying to catch up with those who have better FB facilities and better FB players. Most likely, there will always be a 'mindshaft gap' between us and the big guys. Heck we weren't even gonna get a share of the big boy loot the first few years in the Power Conference.
FB > BB. Now we have a couple cuts above mediocre FB and no BB.
That is the reality. Don't try to scold me, or pump me up with silly positivism either. I'm never going to read this thread again. The 'Reality' of BB is distressing. lol
Every bit of that would be moot had we continued winning so...
