I'd argue the opposite. When you have the clear cut best player in the country and play in a weak SEC you MUST do better than 18-13 in regular season. Last year was a killer for him. And what are they this year? 10-20 or something?

I agree here, they weren't very good last year even with Simmons. The only reason they were discussed for the NCAA's for a brief time was because of Simmons and that LSU was in the SEC.

Keatts was another name I threw out there last off-season. We missed on him, he's gone after this season. Just like we missed on Brad Underwood. Probably going to miss on Steve Forbes as well.

I don't think a lot of jobs will be open this off-season so it'll be interesting to see where Forbes and Keatts end up. If Buzz takes LSU, either makes a lot of sense at VT
