CoC Post Game Presser- WOW he said WHAT, on a Hot Mic!?
You're killing me here.

For the record, I like CofC. I like what they bring to the conference. I like their coach. And I like the bulletin board material young, runner-up Brantley provides our guys.

Go Seahawks.

I haven't seen Brantley enough to dislike him. Obviously, I didn't love the extracurricular trash talk after the game, but I just chalk that up to two competitive guys. Honestly, the bench/walk-ons taunting the crowd irritated me more than Brantley. I've said it multiple times, but I love his game. He is the most gifted player in the CAA.

I assume Brantley is a little out of character against us. There is a rivalry developing, we were last year's champs, and this season's preseason pick as well. There was probably a little extra motivation, and as a freshman, he didn't always channel that properly. A lot of assumptions there, but I want to give him the benefit of doubt.

At least it's clear Brantley cares, and he certainly aims to beat us. I can respect his competitive nature.

He also should have won Defensive Player of the Year over Cacok.

I'm not hating on Brantly either. Tough competitor who cares. I was at the first regular season game in Charleston when we beat them and fans behind our bench were getting a little rowdy / doing a little taunting.

I was right there under the basket when Brantley rebounded the Flemmings missed ft at Trask to win the game. He went off right there at us, the players and on over to the bench. I don't know if something happened during the game to set him off or not. And if that all in heat of the moment I can let that go. But he is starting to build a resume of classless acts. And Grant needs to reel that in. I like and respect his game. And I like the rivalry we are building with each other. I have always pulled for the Cougars when not playing us. Brantley is too good of a player to act that way. Just sayin'.

So are you saying he celebrated? I watched the end with the on demand site (actually watched it 4 or 5 times cause it was fun) didn't see any pointing or gesturing but I did see him start yelling and walking away and celebrating. He was also second or third in line to shake hands, by apparently when he and ogbodo got together some jawing started and both sets of coaches started pulling players away and sending them to the locker room without finishing the line.

I know what I wad told happened, probably not the complete story so there's that.

He got that T. In that game by coming over to stand up for Harris when cacock almost dragged him down and got a T.

I actually expected him to get one when Adala moto drilled chealey (it was beyond a hard foul) and he came over but chealy helped diffuse and moto got the T.

If he was taunting the Crowd or the bench, he shouldn't be and at least needs a reprimand but the side I heard didn't sound like that and made it seem more of a fan/player problem on the other side, but again it's just one side seen through my maroon colored glasses.

Your teal colored glasses could be slanting it another way, truth probably in between.

That's why I don't get worked up over Internet opinions.

I was there. Saw it first hand. Don't care if you believe me. And don't give a damn about your opinion.

Ok. Now that I am more on the sober side, let me approach this in a more civil manner. I do like Brantley's play and passion. He is very impressive on the court. He really convinced me of his talent when he buried those two long range threes in the championship game. But his antics include more than one or two incidents. And I think it wrong to throw Chealey under the bus by saying nobody knows who actually said what during the post game interview. They were the only two at the mic and I find it hard to believe Chealey would have said such a thing. Brantley seems to wear his emotions on his sleeve. And all I suggest is he learn to reign that in, not only for himself, but for the program. Otherwise, I do really like his passion.
Now, those that know me on these boards, know that I would be challenging one of our players just as well if they were acting up. I put no player above our program. They represent our school and our program. I do give passes for single incidents that happen in the heat of the moment, unless it would be way over the top. And we have had some player attitude issues that were dealt with very strictly just this year. And I support our Keatts' decision to do so.
