Seattle Times article on Seattle U
New article on Seattle U. Key points:

Dollar is working on multi year extension with Seattle U.

Tone on program has changed, especially from 3 years ago when the schools goal was to become the next Xavier and mimick them. Now, SU can be the next "Belmont" or "Davidson before the A10"

Dollar thinks he is tapping into local talent. Cites three players, two from years ago one of which transferred away. Does have two this year though committed including state 3A player of the year Nate Pryor so hopefully that changes.

Thinks if Menzies didnt get hurt, would have won 4 more conference games this year

Likes Key Arena, says it is venue that school needs in future.

"Seattle U will never be a basketball crazed school"

SU has unique challenges with higher academic standards than rest of WAC but less sports atmosphere.

In the end, I feel worse as a fan after reading that. We're keeping Dollar, he is delusional about his local recruiting, and in a matter of 3 years the programs goal has gone from Xavier to Belmont. Sweet.

The whole article gave me a strong sense of very little upwards goals for the program. Seems like Dollar and administration is very content with where we are. What a joke.

Later when im home, I'll look at any local comments, as I'm intrrested in what if any are written.

Hopefully, SU can fix this and become compteitive in MBB, with or without Dollar.

Currently mobile....but not necessarily upwardly.

Dollar must have pictures of the President in a compromising position, anywhere else and he would have been let go.

Ridiculous. Every year, I find myself not watching more and more games and not giving a rip. Dollar has done NOTHING to keep his job. Nothing.

The whole tone of that article just upset me. He seems so content and like "this is as good as it gets". Theres zero reason we cant be better than this.

At least Pryor looks like a stud and Kavas won FOY. We have a really young team and Menzies will hopefully continue to be great next year. But wow, very upsetting if the administration/coaches think this is all were capable of. An occasional CBI berth. No wonder the WCC doesn't want us

Friendly reminder: Seattle U has had one winning season under Dollar and we're going to give him an extension!

While Dollar cares more about the 'inside', unfortunately in today's world it's all about the outside. He'll have to figure out how to win.

Seattle fans have every right to be pissed that Dollar is getting an extension. I know some GCU fans who want Majerle fired because most of the time our offense is improvised and guys just stand around for 15 to 20 second before we decide to do anything.

Hopefully that's the last game of the season. Hopefully the CBI isn't desperate enough to take SU this year.

Yeah and the offensive side of the ball is the main concern because you can't just stand around for so long and expect to have successful offensive possessions. Yeah our defense is great and all that, but defense can only carry you so far in basketball. Now if Majerle can bring in someone who can coach the offense if he doesn't really want to do that, then that's what he needs to do, but the team needs a better offense and right now that isn't really going to happen.

Man, I think we have very different perceptions. I actually think the offense is fine. They run a lot of pro sets, high, pick and rolls etc.

It's their Defense I always worry about.

Perhaps, because I had to watch Russ Pennell for so long. That offense was terrible.

I never saw the Pennell era, so I can't attest to that, but I look at what doesn't travel for road games, it is the offense most of the time. Plus my biggest pet peeve is our inability to adapt our offensive game to play against any kind of zone defense and it isn't like Majerle doesn't know it's coming.
