Got to get the fire back in here before and show a damned pulse. I will be happy with 7-8 wins, and a bowl game thats not a vacation. Anything else after that is gravy IMHO.

That's where I am. I don't care about number of wins this year. I just want them to give a sh*t.

Honestly, I'm excited about Fickel and what he's doing, but I haven't decided on season tickets. I'm pretty burned out after the Tuberville debacle. It sucks to drive over an hour to watch a team that doesn't give a sh*t and a coach that is ROAD (retired on active duty for you non-military folks).

Before I get flamed, I'm leaning towards buying a ticket this year. Just not very excited. Maybe the spring game will get me hyped.

I'm expecting a big turnaround. I still think the roster is not where it needs to be but the staff is such an upgrade and the HC is an exponential improvement on all categories that were a complete failure from day one by the goofball he replaced.

RE: Spring football practice started today
Fickell strikes me as one who will both demand and receive every player's top effort, and will be a stickler for getting back to sound fundamental football. He'll also upgrade the roster, but it will likely take another year or two before this is decisively apparent.

I'm sure that the on-field results will be better than those of the last two seasons, but just how much better remains to be seen. You can be CBJ good through hard work, but being BK good requires both the work and rare coaching talent. We'll see. Either way, we're getting a big upgrade.

Looking forward to the season and loving the new attitude and approach.

Not looking forward to the reaction if/when they get stopped at the big house in week 2. I think they will be better but going to Michigan that soon is a big ask and it will take time to erase 4 years of "aw-shucks" coaching.

Fickell is going to hold a spring practice at Elder. Brilliant move.

Finding loopholes in the spring just like Harbough was doing. Did the NCAA ever clear up some of the things Michigan started to do - Spring Break practice in Florida, satellite camps, etc?

I think they decided it needs to be close by. Can't have it in a different city or metro. Compliance office probably have to approve of this before we could even announce it.

Agreed. This is huge for endearing UC to the local high school circuit. I'll be visiting The Pit for the first time since my senior year there.

So practice at Elder and borrowing wrestling mats from Moeller for this spring. Nice moves.

Remember when 4 months ago we had a coach who possibly couldn't name 3 high schools in this city?

He has...

Then they need to hold practice at Centerville or Wayne high schools.

Unrelated to football but yesterday UC hosted Mason HS Varsity baseball for a practice and game. Nice way to showcase facilities for a program with really good pitching.

Byu game couple years ago did it for me. I'm with you. I'll just take effort.
