You gotta love the speculation in this USA Today article:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nca.../98855872/

The report, written by the Bowling Green Police Department, details several witness interviews, one of which was an alumni fraternity house member, who said football players from the school were outside attempting to start a fight and that he thought one of the players had a gun

Seem to recall that 40 years ago; Pikes at MT were mostly from the southeast side of Nashville and Rutherford County. They Loved to Raise Hell. Had several old High School chums who were members of that chapter. Really don't recall any FB players going to their house and starting any fireworks with them. Like a lot of Frats in the early Seventies; think they were always on "Double Secret Probation":lmfao: The Ski Mask thing definitely gets an A+ for STUPID.

RE: Ruh Roh
What's not being reported is that multiple Pike guys started a fight with a football team guy the night before and one of the frat guys sucker punched him. That doesn't justify the players action the next night but that started this series of events.

Also. No charges at all have been filed. Even though police were there. The Pike's have not asked for charges to be filed. One would think that's because they know they are at fault as well. Pike is trying to get this seen in court of public opinion. That's how the security footage from their house magically found its way to TMZ.

RE: Ruh Roh
Saying any fraternity or sorority is ________ everywhere is flat wrong.

My Pi Kapp chapter at MT was nowhere near the biggest, the best, the coolest, the richest etc. at MT, none of us with houses off the row were, but we also weren't the worst, smallest, etc.

I've seen Pi Kapp chapters similar to mine, I've seen well run, poorly run, chapters more than double ours in size and chapters half ours in size. Chapters I could have easily been a part of and others I'd want nothing to do with.

All that being said, Pike along with one or two others seem to be the most consistently similar in both my experience as well as reputation.

The roids and other things being described at Western, Tech, and USM were definitely true of Pike at MT when I was there.

I really think PIKE has a "type" that they recruit just like the Big 10 does with corn fed linemen and the SEC does with convicts.

Anyone remember when Ron Zook escorted his football team to confront frat bros at UF? I believe the circumstances were similar but those were PiKapps.

Thread sounds like blaming of the fraternity, not the guys that actually did it...guess it's always someone else's fault

Actually, I think it's just devolved from talking about the specific incident to everyone bringing up anecdotal comments about a particular Greek life organization at their campus and then throwing in stereotypes heard across the nation.

I certainly hope our coaches drop the hammer on somebody here. I don't care who it is, this crap can't happen. Just stupid stupid stupid. Sanford needs to make a statement here.
