Very nice overview. I think it's hard to say that either half of the bracket is more advantageous than the other, though. There's pretty much the Mavericks @very good, then a clump of pretty good teams behind them that got distributed pretty evenly.

his assessment of uta is on the mark tho. as scrappy as Bilbao is inside, he doesnt really dominate and their 7 footer is too light and not a good scorer. Bilbao can get in foul trouble and the inside defense falls off a lot without him in there. If they win the tourney and end up as projected as a 12 seed playing notre dame, they wont match up very well.

Oh, I agree...a lot of good insight there!

Don't know that I firmly am on board with your assessment. I think UTA has one of the better inside games in the conference. Depth is certainly an issue, but Bilbao is a solid player. Hervey can play inside and out. Couple those two with the slash ability of Neal, Jones and Wilson and no team can sleep on UTA inside like they can with other teams in the tourney.

As for us v ND, way too many horses before that cart. Can we make the dance first?

one thing I notice this year is the refs allowing more contact down low. seems like our teams would get knocked around a little in post season play and maybe this gets us better ready for the post season . that uta-ulaf game was a slug fest at times. BTW Hervey was named to the USBWA all district team.

And rightfully so. I can't wait until he announces for the draft. :-)
