Basketball rankngs lacks credibility?
In what world is Darius Garland top 10 recruit and Alex Lomax is 131? 04-jawdrop04-jawdrop04-jawdrop

Rivals (Incredible) 150 Rankings

247 Sports rankings

No offense to TJ Moss but 59 ranking and Alex Lomax 131? Am I missing something concerning Lomax? WoW!!!

Espn scouting report:
Quote:ESPN Analyst

Strengths:
Lomax is a super solid point guard. He is a coaches player in that he is smart, has a great basketball IQ, is a leader and makes few mistakes. He has a strong body and uses it to drive through defenses offensively and "body up" opponents on defense. He is a pass first point guard but can score when needed. He is a solid shooter with range to 19 feet.
Weaknesses:
He is only a solid athlete with decent quickness.
Bottom Line:
He reminds us alot of Kansas' Frank Mason.

RE: Basketball rankngs lacks credibility?
Not sure what his last summer was like, but that's really what these rankings are based on. His HS season matters, but they don't update rankings that often. My guess is if Lomax has a good summer on a team that plays in some high profile tournaments, his ranking will jump considerably.

RE: Basketball rankngs lacks credibility?
Lomax seems like one of those "swiss army knife" guys who is good at a lot of things but not dominant in any one category.

That was Adonis. His HS numbers were "nice" and despite the insistence that he was an NBA type guy, his HS numbers didn't ever point to any ability to dominate. He was a good college player, but not a program changer as his HS hype had indicated.

So, the question is will Lomax be a solid 4 year guy? Or is he a transcendent player? I'm guessing a better than Kemp but not as good as Joe? Sound about right?

I worry about Lomax's quickness. Especially given that he's not tall.

I worry about people killing the kid when he shows up on campus as a Top 50 player and only goes for 7 and 4 his freshman year.

People here expect every 4* and 5* to be a 15 and 8 guy from the second they step onto the court.
