What? You can't get higher than a Dayton Flyer. That was faster Than I expected.

Looks like Matt McCall (Chattanooga) will be the next UMass coach.

Miami hired Purdue associate coach Jack Owens. Some speculation that we may have not gotten our first choice after the Dayton and Akron jobs opened up, but I still like the hire.

Duquesne stole Akron's Dambrot. 7 year deal. Big get for the Dukes and the A10.

Dambrot's father played at Duquesne. His son transferred in soccer last year from Akron to Pittsburgh IIRC. Probably made the difference.

That's a big get for a school that hasn't been to the NCAA's since....1977. Which is an amazing drought for a team that's been in a multiple bid league for pretty much that entire time

This is exactly why I don't see the A10 falling off. It's a basketball first conference and the amount of parity in the middle of the pack is ridiculous.

New head-coaching hires have been coming in fast the past few days, as they usually do in the week of the Final Four.

Definitely, they need to socialize, hire assistant coaches and talk schedules.

Dayton hires Anthony Grant. Was wondering when he'd get back to college coaching.

Hopefully we will be like our previous former Purdue assistant not our current former Purdue assistant for you guys.

Jon Rothstein‏ @JonRothstein
Georgetown has hired Patrick Ewing as its next basketball coach, a source confirms. Expecting a press conference potentially on Wednesday.

Jon Rothstein‏ @JonRothstein
The new Big East is becoming the old Big East. And that's a beautiful thing.

Marc Stein‏ @ESPNSteinLine
Great day for Georgetown and Patrick Ewing fans in general ... bittersweet day for those rooting for Ewing to get an NBA head coaching shot.

Adrian Wojnarowski‏ @WojVerticalNBA
Sources: Patrick Ewing has a multi-year deal to become Georgetown's coach. He will start immediately, leaving Charlotte's staff now.

Looks like the top remaining open job is New Mexico, who oddly waited until last Friday to fire Craig Neal. Florida Gulf Coast head coach Joe Dooley has already interviewed.

New Mexico used to be considered a decent job, but is it still?

It should be the best basketball job for a coach in that conference. Excellent fan support and attendance. Boosters and fans prioritize hoops over football, so it's more attractive to a basketball coach than a place where football is king and basketball is an afterthought. On the other hand they don't have any super-wealthy boosters AFAIK, so if a coach's asking price is north of $2 million/year (e.g., Crean) then that coach won't be on their short list.
