Do the teams that have higher ranked recruiting classes GENERALLY have better teams? Yes, generally speaking they do. Most of the time it's better to have higher rated recruits than not to.

One reason there's more patience for Pearl on this board is because Auburn isn't this fan base's team.

From the outside looking in, fans of other teams thought we were crazy to be so down on Pastner. They just looked at the numbers and results and said, "What's to really complain about?" They didn't live in the same house with Paz, figuratively speaking.

If you look at Auburn's program historically, how and who they've been able to recruit, what their results have been then, you can see what Pearl is building there. It's a much, much steeper hill to climb than Memphis has (traditionally).

Now, personally, I think Pearl is a year behind schedule but I really don't get all wound up about it. If he doesn't have a breakout year next year then he's definitely under performing IMO but again, wtf either way.
10 months BBalls, not getting it done, I don't care if Auburn wins a national championship next year. I honestly thought he was a better coach than he has shown, with all those great recruiting classes and all.

Does it take extra work on your part to be this much of an ass or does it just come naturally to you?
Naturally.

Me too.
