The best COACH we ever had ( DANA KIRK )--was asked, ( I think at his hiring presser )--is his offense the "run and gun"---Dana replied NO --RUN AND MAKE IT.

He was the master of promotion. The Colonel Tom Parker off college BB.

Lace them sneakers up tight.
We don't CARE about the other team- when (not if) we do what we do good everything's is gonna be all right.
First coach to let players do the coaches show.
Women love him. Personality.
I wish I could remember all of his colorful sayings.

You got that right--and what a teacher of the game. He taught our big's to block shots in bounds-to a teammate if possible. What about the 2 for 1's on possessions at the end of half's. The wrong way play--and he hated Crum. What was not to like !!!...AND his upset picks on his show--I took my Bookie for many$$ with those.

Forgot the wrong way play. Teams watched it and still fell for it. Finally, conference teams started DOUBLE CHECKING which direction was the play. And he did pick those games which would probably be illegal today. I made some too.

I loved Kirk's style and system. I always thought we could win with him. I agree he was best coach we ever had.

yeaaaaah....I'm still not sure what that means. I tried to learn. I've coached a lot of styles. Isn't dribbling the only way to drive? So it's basically a motion offense with less discipline. Drive whenever you want? Calipari is a master marketer. Platoon system. Talks 7-8 top prospects to commit to 4-5 remaining spots at the same school. Cheers to him 04-cheers

But my pea brain isn't smart enough to understand the DDM system I guess.

It was a bastardization of whatever Wahlberg was running out at the CA juco, which is all just hybrids of Euro drive and kick and motion stuff.

Agree

90 MPH on offense and full court defense that really presses at times.
