CoC still had a couple of fouls to give so could've kept hacking and pretty much run out the clock. Shak had to take a shot before they could foul him. Didn't get too bad a look either...

Good point. He fell down before the ball was brought in, recovered himself, but looked very rushed and off-balance on the shot.

Oh well.

Not sure what the hell Satkus was doing taking a 3 late in the game either. Yes, he was wide open. And yes, the shot clock was winding down (though not less than 5 seconds in desperation mode necessarily). Of course, if a frog had wings...

RE: Quarterfinals JMU vs CoC
It was a tough CAA tournament style game as expected. The Dukes needed one more 3 to drop prior to the last 2 minutes for this game to be theirs.

CoC gave s the game we needed to see with their typical poor shooting but they were better on the boards and beat JMU at the physical game. The Dukes did not impose their rebounding advantage at all in what was a very loosely officiated game.

Oh well. The result was not a surprise considering what we have seen for 33 games.
The Dukes bow out in the quarterfinals for the 4th straight year.

At least the JMU gamblers went home happy with a solid cover.

Good effort. Proud of our play in CAA regular season and tournament. Optimistic that we can be a 500 team next year and compete for the title in 2019.

Thanks for the seniors, effort was pretty consistently there over 4/5 years even when the results were not.

Time to close the book on this season and begin to see what the recruits and transfers will look like for next year. Certainly need to have improvement and I think we'll see it.

Another solid effort. Thanks to this Senior class for representing JMU well. No off the court bs and great effort on the court. This team lost a lot of close games and rarely was blown out.

Time to turn the page on the Matt Brady era. Next year will be almost all Lou's players with only Mclean and Snowden remaining from Matt's time as head coach. Lou's first full class looks good on paper. Let's see what he can do with them. Charleston and Elon are the only schools that return a lot of talent. Everyone else will be looking to replace some good players. If Lou does recruit well, JMU should move up in the standings.

Agree, Nation. It's been overlooked how the guys on the team avoided off-court issues this year. Very obvious Rowe is accomplishing this by establishing more personal relationships with the kids. Hope that translates to more success on the court over the next few years.

I am excited about the new class as well. Let's see how the 4:1 works at JMU.

Was a really good game...showed a lot of heart...head scratchers:
- that total hack after our offensive rebound no-call..worse, they called a foul on us right after..that put back would have put us up byb1 I think
- not converting turn overs to points...I counted 3 missed opps
- going for 3s instead of high probability 2s in the last minute
- not being set for long rebounds off a missed 3

Have some serious hope for this team afree a gritty performance against a damn good team

McLean missed at least three layups in second half on breakaways. Inbounds pass over defense at end of game really hurt. Not sure why JMU fouled an 82% free throw shooter at end of game instead of a poor shooter. Snowden was fouled but no call. Team also missed a point blank lay-up in first half and the usual unforced turnovers (like McLean dribbling ball off foot of defender). Believe this is much of what bop_jmu noted above.

On a side note, I think Feinstein does a great job on the color commentary. He definitely knows the CAA and has a pretty sharp sense of humor too. During one of the earlier games (pretty sure it wasn't ours), when the subject of the number of seniors on JMU's squad came up, he said "Senior Day is still going on at the Convocation Center". I lol'd

Missed the game as my high school team was playing in our sectional finals (we won).
Knew it would be close since coc style is not fast paced.

Loved the effort and toughness we showed. I really liked this senior class as people and they gave us all they had on the court.

Now lets hit that recruiting trail hard and get what is needed. 10 wins any year is UNACCEPTABLE

RE: Quarterfinals JMU vs CoC
I haven't seen every game but they played the most complete game from the one's I have seen.

Laugh all you want....the Dukes are better players than COC. COC was the better team.

Coach had the best game of the season. (From the games I've seen) Coach Rowe should not allow Coach Deane to game coach.

The refs were not going to give calls to JMU, Not in COC's home town. Reminded me of the CAAT semi game at the Dump maybe 7 or 8 years ago, a close game between Drexel and VCU. The locals got some calls at the right time to win.
