I don't think they'll win the conference Tourney.

I want to say yes, but I'm leaning towards no. I think they're gonna get put in a tough bracket. The only way they do is if they get in an easy bracket. It just remains to be seen which bracket they are placed in by the selection committee, and that's if they make the tourney. (They should be a definite lock. I haven't watched as much college hoops this year as I have in the past.)

I have my concerns as well due to our starters playing 30-35 mins a game. That's asking a lot of your starters when you have to play three games in three days

Outside of UC, who is honestly expected to give them a game? IF someone gets incredibly hot from 3, then possibly, but this team has developed a cohesive approach to the game that enables them to look at being down by double-digits in the 2nd half as an opportunity.

Thing is, they have learned the confidence in their game this season that really hasn't been there before. Always had Nic to make a big shot when down a few in the last minutes, but we always played with a frenetic pace and seemed rushed when down in the last 5-10 minutes. Now, they play confident and calm and just chip away. Multiple semi-recent games have seen them down in the 2nd half where they don't even increase the tempo...they just up their defense and suddenly the entire game changes. Their ability to play smothering defense without committing the foul is going to go far.

But...I do agree that we need to win the first one to go anywhere. And don't leave it to the end...we know how that ended up last time.

I think both cincy and SMU are capable of F4 runs. SMU has looked absolutely dominant in a lot of the games I have watched this season. They just have that refuse to lose attitude which will serve them well in a couple weeks. If cincy can split the difference between our home and away game offense I like our chances as well. Of course it all comes down to matchups and some luck but I see no reason why neither of these teams can't compete for the title.

I am just going to wait for March Madness, anything is possible. However, until we see the NCAA seeds, regions and brackets, who the hell can say!

SMU isn't a household name and additionally, they just entered the rankings a few weeks back. I think this helps them in the ncaa, flying under radar a bit. I know that generally, if you are in the ncaa, you are considered dangerous and so this goes out the window a bit, but I can see teams being caught by surprise on some level when they play SMU for that reason. You take every advantage you can get.

I think SMU has the talent to beat any team in the country. The enemy will not be the other team, it will be the refs. If they get into foul trouble at any point. Their season might be over.

After watching them set all sorts of records against Memphis today I would say that they are peaking at the right time.

This is the second article I have read recently that has them on the short list of teams that could win it all. Lots of people liking the Ponies. Cincinnati was listed as Near misses (20 teams)
